I'm trying to transfer photos I've taken on the sony camera to my computer. It's been awhile so I haven't had much success in transferring them from the camera to my computer. Help!

Organize edit and share your photos

If you haven't transferred the photos from the card to some other device then the only way you'll see those photos again is if you find the card. It's like anything else you have only one of. If you lose it, you've lost it.

The P100 is not designed for tethered shooting. You can connect it to a computer to transfer pictures after they're taken, and to charge the battery.You could use an Eye-Fi card to transfer pictures as soon as they're taken, but again that's after you've taken the picture.

Did you try media player?

Is your Micro USB cable a "B" or "A"?Micro USB "B" is for data/charging.
Micro USB "A" is for charging only and will not work for any kind of data transfer (pins not connected).
The connector will be labeled at the micro usb end.
When you plug the cable into your phone a popup will ask you if you want to connect to mass storage. Once you answer yes, you can connect to the phone just like a usb drive.

No, your camera cannot use SDHC cards. It's only a 4 megapixel camera so a 2GB SD card will hold hundreds of pics.

After downloading the pictures to your computer, place the memory card back into the camera and format it.

Transfer the images from the memory stick to your computer, make sure the transfer has been successful so you don't lose your pictures, then to be safe put the stick back into the camera and delete them once back in the camera. AGAIN, before you delete anything, make sure your pictures have been safely transferred to your pc and you can view them all. Deleting the photos from the stick will make the disc empty again and ready for more shots to be taken.
