Hp dv 2500 mb-ct:P74511B2DV33T2 p/n GS846UA#ABA s/n 2CE7380QWD Laptop wont boot Lightning led flashes three times with or with out battery. Have done hard reset. Battery wont charge,blue power input led(on side) is on.

My HP flashes 3 times when my battery is dead. Because of this I'm guessing that the AC Adapter is not working properly because it should turn on even with the battery out as long as it's plugged in. Many power adapters have a light on the actual converter box, you want to take a look for that light. If it is on, there is a problem with the cable and/or the connections between that box and the computer. If it is off, try another outlet. If you've done all this troubleshooting I would probably recommend getting a replacement AC Adapter. They are specific to the computer so make sure you purchase the correct one. Last time I replaced one the cheapest I found one (Dell Inspiron 1525) was @ Amazon.com
