On my acer aspire 6930 in the upper right hand corner it says Virtual SurroundSound, when I press it ..it says operating system not supported, I dont understand why I cant use that function. Thanks so much Ash

Try to boot in safe mode which version of operating system you installed

go to the acer website and download the hotkey drivers.

Press the mouse lock button. Most times you toggle the touchpad by a button at the top in the middle of the touchpad.

Some systems will have you to tap twice in the upper left hand corner of the touchpad to toggle the touchpad.

I've also seen some systems where you would have to Press and Hold the ALT or the FN key located at the lower left portion of the keyboard then hit the key that toggles the touchpad. The key that toggles the touchpad will have the icon of a finger pointing at a square which represents the touchpad.

if all fails Click Start/Control Panel and look for mouse or touchpad. Go in and set the settings back to default.

You could try reinstalling the touchpad drivers.
Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "AcerSupport" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Download and install the Touchpad rivers.

Another option, because your notebook's built-in wifi hardware is provided by Intel, is to head to https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html using the notebook, and install and run Intel's Driver And Support Assistant (Intel DSA) which should then advise you what Intel drivers are needed for your Aspire 6930.

The media control buttons give access to volume control, skip, pause/play, and stop. The buttons are capacitive, and glow blue when the laptop is on. To the right of the media control buttons are four buttons that perform programmable actions. By default, they function as wireless on/off, launch Internet, launch Bluetooth manager, and launch Acer Arcade. Also, in the top right corner is a button which turns virtual surround sound on or off.

We would not have an option to disable that button for the volume control.This issue you have there would be a hardware issue with the touch key and you would have to contact the technical support to have the computer repaired.

Dear friend please press FN+F7 ( sign of touchpad) Its will locked then. When you want to use it again press same key. Follow the sign which is you press with FN key.

there should be a button right under the screen, right above the keyboard that looks somewhat like a thumbnail, when you press it, it should turn orange telling you it is on.
