Troubleshooting a GE Simon XT: Clear Errors and Alerts -Wireless Home Security ... Many times the Simon XT panel willbeep to indicate there is something ... How do you turn off the warning beep when you turn on alarm? I find it very useless and annoying. Can't seem to find a way to turn that feature off.
Aug 28, 2011 - If your panel has been beeping throughout the day and you want to turn off ... Scroll down on the Simon XT until you see "System Programming".Missing: control hello control box
There is no fuse on the Simon 3 board. If your transformer is good and measures 9-11V AC you charging circuit is gone and you will need a new motherboard. AlarmProfessor.net
I'm having the same problem on a used Simon. I think the button is inside the wireless transmitter. It has a spring attached to it. Just press on the spring to send wireless signals to the panel. My problem is I press on the spring and the panel does not receive the signal, even with a $20 fresh Lithium Ion battery from Radio Shack.
temperature affects batteries. if the batteries on the window sensors have been in use for some time it is probably time to change them. Alarm batteries are only expected to last 3 to 5 years with moderate use. If you have close neighbors or live in an apartment complex then false reads could be a factor.
You are out of luck with the Simon 3 as it will only handle 24 zones. You will need to go to the Simon XT which will allow almost double the zones of the Simon 3.
"GE Simon"
"ITI" (that's eye-tee-eye, for Interactive Technologies, Inc. original developer of Simon, now a subsidiary of GE Security)
"319.5" (the frequency on which simon sensors operate).
You'll find almost any sensor you can imagine there.
