Hello, I have a Samsung DLP HLR5667 and it blew a lamp 4 months ago, I replaced the lamp and it worked fine for about 2 months and started shutting off after only running for about 90 seconds. I reset the lamp hours and it worked fine for another 2 months. Now it is shutting off after 90 seconds of running, first the picture then the audio. All three lights then begin to blink. Troubleshooting I have performed is 1. I have cleaned the interior of the television. 2. Jumpered the lamp door switch. 3. Jumpered the thermostat. 4. Reset the lamp hours. Can anyone help?

You need to replace your color wheel. This is a very sensitive part and you need to take care when replacing. If you feel comfortable I can walk you through it. If not, I would take it to a authorized service center.

Thank youb for your advice, I do feel comfortable enough to tackle myself, however, I am not getting any audible signal that the color wheel is bad. What leads you to believe that it is the color wheel?
Thank you for your timely response.

Because your lamp is good and your ballast is good and all 3 leds are blinking. This is the common problem with that chassi these days. Your wheel is good enough to get the set started, but cannot keep a good RPM so the set is shutting down. You might be able to notice on you picture if it is bad enough. Before it shuts down look close at the display. You might be able to see the colors shifting a little bit.

Samsung HLP5085W DLP - lamp replaced about 7 months ago. I powered up TV and got strange colors with flickering picture. Turned unit off and triangle symbol appears with lamp showing - needs replacement....

Strange colors and flickering picture symptom shows problem with color wheel and/or dmd board.
Lamp is only light source in dlp tv and it has nothing with colors or picture flicker.
TV goes to protection mode because of some internal problem as mentioned above.
If you wish to repair tv by yourself then you should have service manual copy in hand and that can be downloaded from HERE for small fee.
Hope these info will help you.
Thanks.

TV won't stay on

Hello Fonzell!
Regarding the tv turning, my question is, do you hear a clicking sound? if so, it's most probable tio be your ballast, that might not have enough voltage to keep on with your lamp, and that's why it shuts off.
You could try replacing it and seeing if it resolves your issue, I believe they're running around 70 dlls..
have a great one ! :)

Samsung hln4365w - no pic. or sound. it whistles a few times when powered on

We have the same DLP set and had the same problem. The Color Wheel, P/N BP96-00250A, a $200 part needs replacement to eliminate your problem.

52" Samsung DLP

It is unlikely that you can do anything yourself.
It sounds to me that there is a power supply problem that has steadily gotten worse and that cannot be confirmed remotely, it must be done on site by an equipped professional.

Samsung DLP TV HL-R5667W shuts off intermittently

Afraid there is no simple answer to this. This set has multiple things that could shut it down, one may be the balest needs a upgrade , this could be why it seems to be eating lamps. Another is what sounds like a fan is a color wheel , these have known problems of failing, and when this happens sometimes they shut down the set. And finaly does the set have good ventalation, overheating can cause huge problems with this set

Samsung DLP HL-P5063W. . .no lamp!

You will need to have it diagnosed if you do not have the service manual, or the knowledge of how these circuits work. I can tell you to replace this or that but it would be a guess! You need to start measuring the voltages on the ballast circuit, as I have seen door switches, fan sensors, heat sensors cause all of your symptoms as well. Good Luck
