Yes, the motherboard has failed : the BIOS was corrupted. All you can do is to remove the battery for 1 hour than try again. If that doesn't fixes it then the board is dead, replace it.
If it is within warranty, pls take it to the service center along with yr cabinet. Let them fit the wires within the cpu. if u have fitted it on yr own, It seems that u have not fitted properly, the wirings.
its problem bios not configure properly reset mother board jumpure 1-2 normal 2-3 reset again position 1-2 machin is on press F2 set up bios your choice configure before unpluged your hard drive
they best way is to flash ur bios that will really help u can visit the intel website and download latest bios for your motherboard and flash and install it using according to instructions.thanks
Problem most likely is in bios. Hit the Del key when rebooting to enter bios setup. Check the settings there for the cpu. Asus has an automatic setting for overclocking for this board. Make sure it is set to auto. Save then reboot. Hope this helps.
Sounds like it is a hard disk issue. Corrupted MBR. Or missing Boot Loader. Your partition must be Fat32 since Win98 won't recognize NTFS. Try running chkdsk if not successful than repartition and format. BIOS is OK since you stated it will install windows. Corrupted BIOS won't allow pc to load. From a win98 bootdisk choose not to load cd. From the dos prompt type FDISK /Status If more than 1 partition check active partition settings.
