In my opinion, you should not have to give them the remote number, but you can look this up by contacting the customer service website of Toshiba, giving them the model number of your tv..and explaining your situation...also check eBAY for remotes.
Lightning damage is disarsterous for anything electronic, let alone a 2-way, I believe that there is something else that's been overlooked and it could be the RF switch on the board.
This unit needs to go and get a radio doctors opinion, else the radio may eventually die a slow death.
Kenwood is a good brand and if you paid good money to buy it, you need to spend a reasonable price to have it checked out.
This is the dvd player, it has died and must be replaced. A simple job that can be done by yourself - all you need to do is to buy a new unit http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-TS-L632H-DVD±RW-Notebook-Drive/dp/B001SKO552 and install it in the place of the old one - 2 screws and 2 cables to unhook and it's out.
I work for a major computer manufacturer (NOT TOSHIBA) and here is an unbiased opinion. Toshibas and Sony's are the WORST OF THE WORST. They use shoddy materials and cheaper plastics in case and motherboards. I have several Toshiba's from friends in my basement that have had bad motherboards burn out, bad power supplies and bad fans. Sony is just the same with their products.. If you are wanting a low cost functional quality product look to Dell or HP. Both make good products with similar components. Depending on your budget you should look at BestBuy this week. They just took price cuts on Compaq (HP MADE) laptops and a CQ62 is now priced at $299. Which is good considering it ran 570 at christmas. Its a great laptop with capabilities for the average user that are GREAT. Dell has a similar laptop but its priced at $379. Dell has a good history of durability but lately their customer service has gone down as they focus on business customers more than home users. HP has good service satisfaction. You wont go wrong with either of these two brands based on your needs. If you are a GAMER then you will want better performance but the rules are the same for quality!!! By all means.. no bias.. stay away from Toshiba and Sony... If you must buy one of these models then get a LONG extendeed warranty and pray ....alot!! Other manufacturers like Acer, Asus, etc are Chinese made and those are a **** shoot... have about a 30% DOA rate out of the box. Sony Toshiba about 15% but have long term issues as described above. Dell and HP about 3% and best quality.
They haven't released or you do not have the 64 bit drivers for the device. Look on the website for Vista 64bit drivers for that device. You might try using compatability mode to run in 32 bit mode on 32 bit drivers but you may lose functionality.
If you have any electronic soldering skills you can replace the convergence amp IC's which are part # STK 392-110. Buy the expensive IC's which are made by Sanyo and they last longer. You can buy these from www.encompassparts.com for about $30 each.
Buy some desoldering wick from radio shack to assist in removing the old IC's.
A very fair question and my opinion is based on educated guess. so my take is this if the camera is new ( 6mo or newer) it uses the SDHCbecause the new standard is backwards compatible. also the manual references the high capacity sd cards ( I looked at the PDF online) I can't imagine the camera not using SDHC when it doesn't reference standard sd cards. You still may want to buy your card somewhere that will take it back easily.
Hope this helps and let me know what you decide. good luck Rob
I have the same toshiba burner. You should manually assign a right sector number to a so-called break point between layers of a DVD9, in order to start burning, or to burn successfully with this Toshiba. This requires profound knowledge, and special progs to use. "Imgburn" (freeware) is one of a few.
I have a jvc gr-d290ek digital camera which is not working due to cassette being stuck in the unit. Are you still looking for a used or broken camcorder of this kind?
