Sounds like a paper jam check out the paper path going through machine. somewhere in there is some paper jamming a switch the cartridge is the printer head that holds the ink uinstall cartridge then reinstall . Then trace back what made it do this what happened the last time it worked. If nothing else go through the reinstallation process like you are hooking it up for the first time and that way you check all your cords make sure the paper tray is right and reload the driver and see , It is something simple one or all those things I mentioned.
in order to melt the dust ink the fuser must be at a certain heat if this rod blows then it will not work it should last a lot longer than it has but it would seem it has blown unless there is a power short up to it you will need to have it looked
Go to menu option and choose the option fax and set the parameter like auto receive or manual set the ring auto answer mode after certain ring. If it is in auto receiving mode it will receive the fax after the ring which you set. Make sure the phone wire which you insert in fax machine getting proper dial tone and getting out going calling facility. Have a nice day and do not forget to rate please...!
