Hello,

The proper way of using the battery is to Initially charge it for for 8 hours. The computer must be off while connected to the ac adapter or charger. Also, fully charge it and use it until it drain. Do not plug the ac adapter overnight while the battery is in it. If you're going to use the laptop as desktop, it is better to remove the battery and use the ac adapter to power ON the laptop.

The first time you charge the battery allow 12 to 16 hours, after that 2 to 4 hours or when battery is charged. If you go on battery frequently drain it right down before charging it, this will give the maxi-um performance and longevity.

The rule of thumb is never use your laptop while charging.
1. Turn off the Laptop. Plug in power core to charge. Leave it for about 8-10 hours.
2. After 8 hour. unplug powder core. Leave it 30 minute for cooling down.
3. Turn on the laptop and use it until batter are almost empty and shutdown automatically
4. Leave it 30 minutes for cooling down.
5. Plug in powder core to charge. Leave it for about 8 hour.
Repeat step 1 to 4 two more times.
Keep in mind that you should avoid using laptop while charging.

Samsung R511 blinking orange with battery in its slot/place. Removing battery results in green light but laptop does not boot...not even bios screen. ..just remains dead. Laptop works normal with charged...

R511 or RV511-a01. use correct model?
R511 is DVR player, so I call TYPO.
answering for RV511 now. ( 8 years old at least)
Notebook NP-RV511 , this? with windows 7 still?
you said it runs normal with a charged battery
is that history past or now.

then you said, remedy, and my socks fall off
what? "without battery and work on AC, no battery)
so you are saying the power pack is dead.
buy one, end this saga., $15 power pack off fleabay.

the #1 cause of bad troubleshooting is Assumptions/.
like my battery is good, you'd need a same PC known good to know that and test the battery there.to prove that. Batteries are the #1 failure mode of all PCs made. period. so.... even 1 year old !!! abused.
no battery lasts 8 years, ok

ECON110 , no tools , no meters, no spare parts to do tests. (am i right)
1: runs on AC ok battery out buy a new battery for $15

2: runs on battery only but not on AC only
buy a $15 AC power pack. (a dmm meter used now will prove its bad, (we test at the mobo jack live)

3: runs on AC but the new battery will not charge,
buy new mother board, the charging chip on board is toast $300

econ 101 wins lacking tools

or get the PC serviced in shop that has tools.

With a new motherboard installed, am still having problems with AC power cord and battery. I know battery is getting to end of it's life.Power cord will not power laptop by itself. Laptop will onl

Output of 19 Volts DC at 6.3 Amps is correct. (It isn't the Amperage you have to be concerned about so much. It is the Voltage. Voltage is correct)

Mounted on the motherboard of your laptop is a power correcting chipset.

This chipset senses when the laptop battery needs a trickle charge, or a full charge. It also senses when the laptop is to run straight off of the battery, or the AC adapter. (Charger)

With a Battery being at the end of it's 'Life Cycle', you may be overtaxing this chipset. Can't sense that the laptop needs to run straight off of the AC adapter. Tries to constantly charge the battery.

Replace the Battery.

Or the motherboard isn't worth poo-poo, and has a bad power correcting chipset.
(Don't care if the motherboard is new. Lemons are made)

Some examples of chipset's used in this mode, I am referring to;

Describe your Gateway M675 Laptop w/ Pentium4 Gateway M675 won't maintain a charge after charging and the display flicks from ac/dc until the battery is completely empty. Do I need a new battery or power...

Sounds like you need a new power adapter. The M675 needs the correct voltage constantly to work correctly.I'm using one right now and it does the same thing with the wrong adapter or a weak adapter(low voltage).M675 is a great laptop but with the 3.0ghz its got to get the power it needs especially when its under a heavy load.

The laptop will only work on the mains cable

1) Check that the battery is correctly and firmly installed
2) If your BIOS has a "battery check" feature, run it
3) Try powering down the laptop for 3 hours while being connected to the charger and see if the battery charges
4) You may need a new battery if it is older than 3 years. You can try by switching it with a friend's battery or buy a cheap one for $20-$60 on eAby or a local computer store (try to locate a non-chain store that buys and sells USED laptops, it may be cheaper)

Good luck and please, let me know if it worked

Dell Inspiron E1505 won't recognize new battery

It won't charge or work correctly if it's not the correct one and of the right voltage etc.I don't know how the battery even went in if it's not the Dell specified battery. If it went in and looked to fit maybe the battery itself is bad but its hard to say.

My battery on lm70 express laptop only charges to 70%.fitted new but same problem.charged in another comp.and charged fine.

How do you know that it has charged to 70% and it is the correct percentage on your Laptop?May be you need some other program that are available on the internet that will tell you the exact charge percentage. Make note that In many ways, lithium-ion is superior to nickel and lead-based chemistries and the applications for lithium-ion batteries are growing as a result. Short battery life in a laptop is mainly cause by heat rather than charge / discharge patterns.Removing the battery from the laptop when running on fixed power protects the battery from heat. Make sure the AC Adapter that you are using [on both laptops] is supplying the correct voltage and if possible check with Load.

Battery problem

It could be an hardware problem. I had a similar issue on a dell laptop.
the AC power outlet that was loose. Try to put the power cabel in and see if it moves around. If that is the case you would need a new mother board.
If the power supply is broken, your laptop is not able recived the power. If the PC doesn't get the power it can't charge the battery.

Does the machine behaive as described also when it's plugged into the wall? Becase if this is the case, it can't be a battery related issue. Now, if it does it just when you are using the battery, than you are correct it may be a battery issue.

the battery could be old (battery do no last forever) or maybe it doesnt fits correctly in the machine.

Let me know,
Angela
