I have a LG with service tag # 50LN5400-UA.AUSYLJR. I need help determining which parts to replace. Thanks, Ron

The video circuit is compromised and perhaps the circuit board was damaged. This can happen via power surge or age of the devices. With proper test equipment the video circuit can be traced to find the problem.

My lg tv keeps turning off & on

First of all, thank you very much for choosing FIXYA today for your technical support needs.

Often times this symptom is the result of a failing power supply circuit in your TV, although there are certainly a number of other possible causes.

If your warranty is still valid, then you should definitely contact your dealer / place of purchase and arrange for a refund, exchange, or no cost repair service. If the already warranty is expired, then you have other options available as well.

One fairly easy way to troubleshoot this symptom yourself is to first unplug the set, and then remove the rear access panel on the TV to check the power supply circuit board located inside. Look for any scorched / bulging / leaking electrolytic capacitors on that circuit board. If you see any evidence of this, then you might want to consider replacing the power supply circuit board with a new one, since this is the most often the source of the trouble.

Here are some links to images which show what faulty capacitors often look like:

http://www.facilitateit.com.au/Capacitors.htm

You can usually find replacement circuit boards online by searching for your TV's model number.

Here is a link to a replacement POWER SUPPLY BOARD for your LG model 32LG30 TV currently available on Ebay for about $59 US plus shipping:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-TV-32LG3DC-UA-32LG30DC-UA-Power-Board-EAY40504401-/120732123528?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c1c320188

Just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information and items at the website indicated.

The repair / replacement procedure is not extremely difficult if you have some basic electrical safety knowledge and some basic electronics / mechanical repair skills.

You will need to first unplug the power cord from the unit, lay the TV screen side down on something soft and flat like a bed if necessary, and then remove the rear access panel or the entire rear cover as required in order to access the circuit boards inside.

When you remove the rear cover and access the circuit boards inside, just check the part number that is printed right on your currently fitted circuit board, and confirm that it exactly matches the one provided in the online listing. Also make sure that any part you order is labelled "TESTED WORKING" in the condition description. Any part with a condition description of "AS IS" is probably faulty as well.

Then just unclip and remove the various electrical wire connectors leading to the power supply circuit board. Then remove the screws securing the circuit board to the TV frame and then remove the power supply circuit board itself. Be sure to avoid touching any large capacitors on the circuit board which can retain a nasty electrical charge and still cause injury even after the unit is unplugged.

Then just screw in the new power supply circuit board and connect all the wire bundles to their appropriate connectors on the new circuit board and then replace the rear cover. Then plug in the power cord and test out your TV.

If you are not comfortable conducting this level of repair procedure yourself, then you will probably need to contact your local TV repair shop to arrange for service.

I hope that was helpful to you, good luck.

Hi, My White Westinghouse LCD tv was working one day and then it just went to a blank screen like it was turnedd off. The power light in front of the tv went to orange like the tv was turned off.I tried...

With the lights in the room turned off, does your TV screen still glow when it is turned on even though there is no picture signal there? Is the sound still working or is that off too?

If your screen stays completely black, then m
ost often this symptom is a result of a failing POWER SUPPLY but a faulty MAIN BOARD or INVERTER BOARD can certainly cause very similar symptoms. Unfortunately, without a donor TV to swap parts with or a dedicated test rig, it can be very difficult to differentiate between these problems.

One quick way to test this is to remove the rear access panel on the TV and replace the power supply circuit board with a new one, since this is the most often the source of the trouble.

You can usually find replacement supply circuit boards online by searching for your TV's model number.

Here is a link to the SHOPJIMMY.COM parts supplier website which will list all the replacement circuit boards available for your model of TV along with their prices if you just type the exact model number of your set into the search box:

We have a hitachi l32h01au tv and the inverter is broken in it. is it difficult to replace and how much can i get an inverter for?

Here is a link to a full list of the circuit boards available for your set from SHOPJIMMY.COM:

http://www.shopjimmy.com/hitachi-l32h01u

And here is a direct link to an INVERTER BOARD currently available there for about $39 US:

You may also find replacement circuit boards on Ebay if you search for your TV's model number or for the exact part number printed on the inverter board itself. Prices may vary slightly on Ebay, but SHOPJIMMY is a very reliable sources of spare parts with consistently fair market prices.

The board replacement procedure is not extremely difficult if you are handy with a screwdriver, have some basic electrical safety knowledge, and a bit of electronics / mechanical repair skills.

You will first need to unplug the power cord from the unit, lay the TV screen side down on something soft and flat like a bed, and then remove the rear access panel or the entire rear cover as required in order to access the circuit boards inside. This will require removing 12 or more philips head screws from the rear panel plastic enclosure.

When you remove the rear cover and access the circuit boards inside, just check the part number that is printed right on your circuit boards and confirm that they exactly match the ones provided in the replacement board listing. If you order the part from Ebay, also make sure that any part you are considering is labelled "TESTED WORKING" in the condition description. Any part with a condition description of "AS IS" is probably faulty.

Then unclip and remove the various electrical wire connectors leading to the inverter boards Then remove the screws securing the circuit board to the TV frame and then remove the board. Be sure to avoid touching any large capacitors on the power supply circuit board while you are in there. They can retain a nasty charge even after the unit is unplugged.

Then just screw in the new circuit board and reconnect all the wire bundles to their appropriate connectors on the new circuit board and then replace the rear cover. Then plug in the power cord and test.
Good luck.

Fuji z10fd no power after lcd replaced

I have repaired several of these. On most of them I found that one or both nano fuses on the main board have gone bad. They are labeled F2 and F3, they are 2 amp nano fuses. They are located on the back side of the main circuit board, near the top. Right at the top of the SD card socket. You will need to use a soldering iron, and desolder both Battery contacts. Also several wires on the main board will need to be desoldered, to get to the fuses. You should have some experience working with surface mount components and soldering before attempting the repair.

No Power to dryer

The first thing you need to check is the breaker. turn all the way to off then back to on. Next you need to make sure there is power to the appliance, a volt meter is crucial for this. If you have no access to one, unplug the cord from the wall, remove the little plate on the back of the dryer where the cord attaches. Look at the connections. If all is good and you can check for power all the way to the connections behind the plug, then the control board may have a fuse designed in it. This is a new machine, and they all have circuit boards. The board will be on underneath the top where the controls are. If you can or know someone who can read a wiring diagram, he/she can look at the one on your machine and tell if there is a fuse.

TV won't power up after surge

Try this: unplug the set and wait about 10 or 20 minutes. This is to make sure that the main power supply filter caps completely discharge. Look on the power supply board, close to where the AC cord attaches to the board. Look for a white resistor labeled "0.1 OHM" (the symbol for OHM, like an upside-down U) and measure it with your ohm meter. If it is open then your switching transistors in the main power supply are most certainly shorted. Older sets had 2 separate transistors on little heat sinks labeled "C4834", then they switched to 2 transistors in one package labeled "MX0841" or "MX0842", and then some sets went to two separate MOSFET transistors. Measure those parts and post your results and we will guide you from there.
