Monitor goes blank , power light goes off.

I have a Polyview V17E LCD monitor and the screen goes blank at different times . The power light goes off also. The first time I unplugged the power supply and it restarted , but now I can unplug data cable and power cable and it will not restart . The only way to restart monitor is to turn off computer and restart computer . Do you think it is a monitor problem or a computer problem

Click start, then then control panel and click on the power management icon. When you see the screen, look at the power management "scheme" and pick the appropriate setting. I assume that what you are experiencing is what's known as "Power management" . In order to achieve an "Energy Star" rating, the computer must shut off various components to conserve power. If you don't want to have your monitor shut down, select never from the options in the Power Management screen. Thanks for using Fixya.com

Acer aspire 5532 power on but no screen or sound

check the power light, is it stay on with green. If yes, probably inverter or back light tube defective. If not, make sure the VGA/DVI cable connector or power cord is secure with PC. if everything is secure then probably the power board or main board defective.

When i start up my computer the screen is blank - its a polyview v17e. we manually must press menu on the monitor then move across to display settings and select analog - the screen then starts up? how do...

You may have to look at the setup menu to see if you can turn on 'AUTO SOURCE SELECT' and set to auto. You may have problem with the logic board that is why it cannot auto detect the DVI or VGA port automatically.

I have problems with my LCD polyview

These monitors are plug and play compliant and should not require any drivers. If you are having video problems it may be the video card.

Monitor Display Problem.

The first Polyview has a power supply problem (a short) and locks out the power until it is unplugged. You need to check the voltages inside the Monitor to determine which component/s are faulty. I hope you know electronics if not leave it to the repair shop because you have neither the skills or equipment to repair it. By the way I am not a monitor repair man but I do have 30 plus years in the electronics field.
The second monitor may have a broken wire in the cord that goes to your computer. Other internal components can cause the same simptoms your seeing. Good luck!

Polyview V17E

Same as before this sounds very similar to the problem that I had with my polyview v396 19" . Its a power supply problem unclip the panel withdraw the power supply it plugs in on its own seperate board. Look for capacitors that bulge and replace them in fact replace them all on tha board not that hard. Replace them with the same rating voltage and micro fards. Cheaper than relacing the whole panel, hope this helps. :)

Monitor Display Problem.

Like most of these LCD monitors it is more than likely a PSU problem to do with the Electrolytic Capacitors, These in all probability will be faulty.. there are usually about 4 - 6 from 1000uF to 100uF replace ALL with same or better.
