Hi Harry, Try re-installing the printer again.Disconnect the printer completely from your PC.Uninstall the printers software from your PC and then reboot it. Insert the installation disk and run setup to install a fresh the printers driver.If you don't have the installing discs,download the drivers from this canon support site.Select the driver that corresponds with your Operating System[Windows XP,Vista etc].
Don’t connect the printer usb cable first 1st you install the driver disc which is come along with the printer and when the software prompt you to connect the cable then plug the usb cable and follow the instruction. Have a nice day and do not forget to rate please...!
try to add your printer just click start and then clickthe printer and faxs after that just add a printer, if it does not work try to see the device manager, you jsut right click the my computer then propertise, then hardware, then device manager, check if there is a yellow question mark, then try to right click it and update driver., then please restart to take effect.
