if your computer came with a motherboard disc the drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools ,computer management ,device manager look through all of your devices if you see a yellow question mark?or exclamation mark ! or red x
right click to reinstall drivers or
if you can see your usb but its not working
ports(com&lpt)right click update driver

And if you don;t have disk? I looked at the motherboard of my desktop and all it tells me is Compaq Processor Board 2001 - 2002. The model is a Compaq Evo but it does not specifically say which one (that I can see). How can I find out which Evo model I have.
I realize the drivers sre on the HP site somewhere but for which model.
you will have to open up your computer to have a look at the motherboard you should see all computer information printed near the CPU central processing unit usually in large letters
