This doesn't sound like a hibernation problem, it sounds to be much deep, motherboard deeper, but let's rule out the hibernation. Unplug the laptop, take out the battery, this will completely shut the machine down. Then put every thing back and restart. If it starts, then disable the hibernation mode in the display properties, screen saver tab, under the button that reads power. If it doesn't start, then the problem is with the motherboard or one of it's components. Take it in for a professional diagnostic, they will be able to tell you exactly where the problem is and if it's a replaceable component.

Problem restarting toshiba satellite c660 from hibernation mode

Go into power options, select hibernate and uncheck the box to the left, this will disable the feature, microsoft worse piece of software. This will free up disk space and improve performance, best of all no sleeping computer to wake up.

I accidentally put my Compaq 6715 b laptop into hibernation. I don't know how I did it or how to bring it out of hibernation.

You need to hit the power button just the once to bring it back out of hibernation mode. It may take around 30 seconds until you hear your computer starting to boot back up and a little longer for the screen to come on.

Failing this, you can try a hard reboot by holding down the power button until you hear your computer re-boot. Usually you need to hold around 10 seconds. However using this last method as a final resort will result in your computer telling you that it did not shut down properly.

My toshiba laptop has gone into hibernation how would i get it out of hibernation please?

To get out of hibernation on all computers with Windows....you simply have to push the power button once and the system is supposed to come out of it. If it does not, power the laptop off, remove the ac adapter power and then remove the battery. Push the power button to bleed any residual power in the capacitors. Plug in the AC adapter and power the laptop back up. It it boots, go ahead and replace the battery. You then may have an issue with hibernation on that particular computer. My advice is to go to the control panel > power options > hibernation tab and uncheck usinf hibernation. Most modern computers do not need this if they are sleeping or if you just want to shut the system down. There have been more bad registry problems with hibernation than any other thing.

Acer Aspire One in permanent hibernate ''coma''

There have been times when Ctrl + Alt + Delete has brought the desktop back up. Usually, hibernation is disrupted by simply pushing the power button once, the computer will eventually come out of hibernation. Most clients I have done work for have me take hibernation off completetly, this is done in the control pnel under power options. There is a tab specific for hibernation.

My toshiba satellite pro was set to hibernate, and when i went to turn it back on the power light comes on, and the cd drive light comes on, but that's it. the cd won't even open so i can't use my recovery...

Try this first to get it out of hibernation mode. Unplug the power supply, remove the battery. go hava cup of coffee. Come back, reinstall the battery and power cord. Attempt to restart the computer.

If this fails go to....

Look at the cd drive. Next to the button that normally opens the cd drive is a pinhole. Power up the computer. Using a straightened paper clip, push the paper clip into the pinhole. you should be able to get the cd drive to open.

If you can not get the computer out of sleep mode you should now be able to get the cd drive open and use the recovery disk.

ToshibaHotkey

Hi,
go to control panel,power options,
change your power settings
stop Hibernation,
" choose what to do when I hit the power button" etc....

Hibernation causes problems with startups

Don't use hibernation, use standby,sleep
or turn it off completly
should cure the problem

How to turn on toshiba satellite M300 laptop from hibernating mode

hi shirleygty, is that automatic hibernation (the computer hibernates by itself) or manual hibernation (by pressing the hibernate button)? If either applies to your case you might need to update the BIOS information for your computer to fix the power management issues on it. You can get it here. Just run the file, click install & choose Install From Windows. Make sure you don't have any BIOS password or any external devices connected to the computer. When the update completed successfully, your computer will automatically restart, then try hibernating this time (manual or automatic). I do recommend setting the hibernation to 1min. at the control panel > power options > change when to turn off the display. When it hibernates, pressing any keys or the power button should wake up the computer.

Hope this helps.
