This laptop has the Intel Mobile GL960 Chipset. Let this be a lesson for everyone- If you need SATA / RAID Drivers, go to the support site for the CHIPSET, not the laptop. In this case, I went to Intels site, went to the chipset page, and got the floppy image. Anyways- for anyone coming across this page ( I know this post is old, but obviously it still shows up on Google), here is a link to the floppy disk image for the drivers.

I have downloaded the driver file and extracted them unto a floppy drive. It usually gets extracted into a folder so I have to take them out of the folder and put it into the A: floppy drive. As I try to install XP, i press F6 for the raid drivers. Once the computer scans, I pressed S to specify and I can choose from 4 different options. I have tried all 4 of the drivers but still get the message that Setup did not find any hard drisk drives installed in your computer. Any help?

In order to install windows-xp on toshiba a205/s5804, You need a Windows-xp Installer CD with SATA driver withit or you must download a SATA driver and copy it to a Floppy Diskette and you must also have an external Floppy drive so that during install in the Blue Screen DOS mode press F6 and it will ask you for the driver and must locate the driver in the Floppy. Thats all, for the Drivers you can google it.
Hi, I had the same luck for over a month in finding the sata drivers for my A205 S5804, finally I was able to find them.. I tried Intel and Toshiba, they were both as dumb a rock, luckily I found the drivers and installed it successfully.

I want to change my operating system from windows vista to windows xp. I tried before but many drivers (sound, dvd, mouse, etc) were missing. I reverted back to vista but the computer is too slow and keeps hanging.
