That would be a defective secondary interlock (lower door switch) or its mount.
Door switch
or mount trouble is usually caused by slamming the door or by opening
the
door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.
There are
plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and
onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.
The screws on these
mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be
activated properly.
Sometimes it's
a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just
out of position. This tab
can be hard to see, since it is under the
bottom edge of the switch.
We have
the service manual for this model and have uploaded it to our

You will need the free

If you only need a
switch, you can order a universal type here for $5 postpaid.

1. Unplug power.
2. Remove two screws holding grille, either on top of the front edge of the outer case or in the grille itself.
3. The grille should lift right out. In not, you may need to pull it to the left about 1/4".

owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

The arms can be removed and if you haven't done this then they come off by rotating the camping nuts on the upper and lower arms.
These are intended for removal by the user, so it should not be difficult.
Dishwashers seem to have only one common failure and that is food getting past the filter and clogging the pipes. It is finding where the blockage is can sometime be difficult (as you are finding).
There may be other parts of the system that are blocked and if after removing the arms and thoroughly inspecting them you find no problem, the next step is to call in the service agent to sort it out.

Bought new spray arms online and installed them in minutes...now the thing works like new... However I have also found that if the heating element goes bad then that also can mess things up bad... So I would buy new spray arms, and also check out the heating element to make sure it is working... Here is a tip that will help you with the online buying...

To replace the plastic handle on the KitchenAid KHMS155LSS-3 you pry open the door cover from the inside to release the upper tangs (~10). I used razor blades wedged between the tang point to hold them disengaged. Pull the front cover off the door starting from the handle end. Once the top edge is free, the bottom can be remover. See Pitcures.
Repeat the door cover removes with the handle attached from the front after you lift the tangs.

Empty the dishwasher and remove the dish racks so that you can easily locate the drain inside your dishwasher. The drain is under a drain grate, usually at the back of the dishwasher.
Remove the drain grate by either popping the grate out, or by unscrewing the screws holding it in place. Different types of dishwashers will have different options.
Use the soapy water and the toothbrush or scrub brush to clean inside the drain area and the grate.
Rinse the drain area with clean water. Then replace the drain grate.
Pour ½ cup of salt, 1 cup of baking soda and 2 cups of vinegar into the drain (in that order). The mixture will bubble. This will clean the drain and the drain hose.
Wait until the vinegar/baking soda mixture has stopped bubbling. Then pour 1 cup of bleach into your detergent dispenser. Replace the dish racks and run the empty dishwasher on a regular cycle. This will clean the entire machine
