I have a 60 inch sony sxrd br2 it will come on for one second and turn off the red power light flashes 4 times then a pause then 4 times then a pause. Is this my lamp?

The 4 blinks do not actually mean that your lamp is defective, but rather that something is wrong with the TV's A-board. Specifically, 4 blinks means no vertical deflection (V STOP), which screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted.
