I have a similar problem with the Sony 60" wega SXRD rear projection TV. The green light blinks on the power/display LED and the picture comes on for a few seconds and then the screen goes black . Then the red light blinks 4 times pauses and 4 times(this cyle repeats)...

I believe 4 blinks is fan error. You can take back off and watch fans in particular the fan for the lamp (this one goes out the most) The TV has a sensor so it knows if the fan turns.You can take a pencil and use it to spin fan sometimes that will jump start it (not a permanent fix just a test). You can try cleaning dust off fan and replugging the connector on the wires coming from fan.Might fix it if not fan will need replacement.

5 year old 60 inch WEGA just turned off itself while watching. I can not get the TV to turn back on. The Green light blinks on the front of the TV when pressing on, then the red light blinks to solid red....

Does anything start to work? Any of the three fans start to turn, Lamp ignite, etc., when you press the power button or does nothing happen before the Red LED starts blinking. How many times does the RED LED blink?

Pictures goes black while power light blinks green

I have a 40 but i was having the same problem. It turned out to be my lamp. I got a brand new lamp from Projector Lamp Services (relampit.com) and my tv works fine now. Im pretty sure that the 40 and the 60 take the same lamp. You might want to give them a call.

My sony sxrd 60 inch fell off tv stand and now does not turn on. The green lights goes on but the tv doesnt turn on and i get 3 blinks from the red light. what does the 3 blinks indicate?

Any of these will do, in reality, the set isn't going to power on as you likely have done some serious damage to the main board or tuner, etc.

SONY SXRD Powers off and on

the tv will cycle the lamp over and over when it goes bad. for some reason, it doesn't spit out the lamp error. the steady green blinking led means the tvs coming on. replacing the lamp will solve your problem.

I had this same problem and after doing some research, I removed the lamp, cleaned it and plugged it back in. It fixed my problem completely.
