You can recover deleted video from camera with asoftech data recovery program
http://www.asoftech.com/adr/

Please be noted that your camera memory should show as a drive letter in your explorer, if not, you need to take out your memory card and connect using a card reader, or plug-in to card reader slot if there's any on your computer.

Possible? Yes, Easy: maybe.

Frist take the memory card out of your cam and connect it to your computer. Then try this photo recovery software (also recover videos and music) to get them recovered.

It should recover your files without problem. But you should take care and note that:
1. Before photo recovery, better stop using the device where your lost digital photos located.
2. You'd better not install the photo recovery program or save recovered files to the drive that you want to recover data from.

OK! Be relaxed! Nowadays, the deleted files on a camera memory card are not actually destroyed immediately as we think. They are still there and become invisible. So, act carefully to get these deleted photos back:
1. Stop using this camera right now in case that any new file on it may overwrite your deleted files.
2. Insert this camera to your computer.
3. Download a camera memory card data recovery freeware to retrieve all your lost photos back.
This professional camera recovery freeware has helped many people around me restore their inaccessible data off from a phone/camera memory card or hard drive. It could be a good choice for you to go on.
Try to read more detailed information of this camera data recovery freeware here:
http://blog4mark.blogspot.com/2012/12/photo-recovery-after-delete.html

4. Do not save or back up all the restored data on the same camera in case of any data loss.

Anything cand be recovered from hard disks unless they have been "shredded" by specialist programs. You'll need to find a data recovery expert in your area and they will do this for you.

Sony HDR-SR10E,Share Sony HDR-SR10E MTS to FLV for Mac Users
Do you have some short films shot with Sony HDR-SR10E AVCHD camcorder, and want to share them on your website? It will make your site more attractive with videos. While Apple compete with Adobe, the Flash support on Apple devices like iMac, MacBook Pro do not support exporting to Flash FLV/SWF now. You can not directly export FLV from the Apple QuickTime Player, iMovie or Final Cut Pro/Final Cut Express.
One solution is to upload videos to YouTube and embed YouTube videos on your site. If you do not want to embed YouTube videos, you can convert Sony HDR-SR10E MTS files to FLV with Mac Sony MTS converter, and put the FLV videos on web server with Flash player. Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac is the recommended Mac Sony HDR-SR10E MTS converter for you. It exports Flash videos with automatic deinterlacing function, which makes the FLV videos play without interlacing artifacts. It could also help you merge several Sony .mts video clips and export as one file.
Here is the step-by-step guide to convert Sony HDR-SR10 videos to Flash on Mac.
Step 1. Load Sony HDR-SR10E videos to Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac.
Run Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac as the Mac Sony HDR-SR10 converter, and click the "Add" button to load .mts files for conversion.
Step 2. Choose Flash FLV output format.
Click the "Format" option, and choose Flash Video > FLV-Flash Video Format(*.flv) as output format. You can also choose the profiles like FLV H.264(*.flv) or F4V(/f4v).

Tips:
With The above mentioned output, you shall use Flash player like JW player, Moyea PlayerBox player, or Flow player to play the Flash videos. If you want the video to play automatically, you may choose SWF-SWF Forma(*.flv) as output.
Step 3. Transcode Sony HDR-SR10 MTS to Flash.
Click the "Convert" button under the preview window, and the conversion from Sony MTS to Flash video FLV/SWF will start right away.
Wait for a while, and you can upload the Flash videos to your sever and embed them on your web page.
PS:
1. The "Merge into one file" on the main interface is to join/splice .mts files.
2. If you are using camcorders like Sony HDR-CX350, HDR-XR520, HDR-TG7, or Cyber-shot DSC-TX7, DSC-H5V, you can also use the Mac Sony MTS converter to export FLV files for web sharing. Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac also works with Canon HF S21, Canon HF100, Panasonic HDC-TM700 and other AVCHD camcorders.

The camcorder is not working, comming up with hdd format error. I've lost all my footage from our trip to disneyland and it will cost about $400+ to recover if they can recover. The other problem i have is...

You are finding the same problems as most Hard-drive and DVD recording cam user these media's simply do not work, they are too un-reliable to put your special holidays and good events on, the only way is TAPE cameras (unless you are not too bothered about loss of your special times.
Sony have dropped DVD cameras already after 3 years of people having problems, and I hear that the hard-drive models will go the same way next year when new tape models come out in the spring.

Can't seem to transfer footage from my SONY HDR SR10 to my imac

I don't know if you would call this a solution but I do know that some computers or programs will not except certain cameras. For instance I have a Sony computer and the editing program I have is Adobe Premier which will not except footage from my JVC camera but will except the footage through my Canon camera. I think the Eggheads that design these programs just like to screw with people.
