Microwave dmw1148ss We bought this product July 06 2006 at Canadian tire in Windsor Ont Canada.We are now loking to get the free 2 year warranty but can,t find the information on the internet. Assuming your power outlet is putting out the proper voltage (about 110-125VAC) then I would suspect a bad magnetron.

You should have at least a year warranty, so I would contact Maytag (see your owner's manual) for a free repair.

If it's just a normal O ring, take yours to a auto parts or hardware store to find a replacement.

My Kenmore 721.63259301 would not heat items up so I came here and saw the parts required and was just about to order them when I checked the online owners manual and found this. FULL FIVE-YEAR WARRANTY ON
THE MAGNETRON For five years from the date of purchase, if the
magnetron in this Kenmore microwave oven
fails due to a defect in material or workmanship,
Sears will repair it free of charge.
My microwave has a manufacture date of July 2009 so I will be taking it right to the closest Sears repair center for a free repair. I suggest everyone do the same.

F3 means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

If it's under warranty, you should be able to get it fixed free.

The "C" in the model number means it's made for the Canadian market, and contacting GE Canada seems to be impossible for us here in the States.

So you'll need to contact GE via the info in your owner's manual.

If it's out of warranty, it's best to replace it, GE does not make parts available for JES-series microwaves.

One assumes they're meant to be thrown away when they fail out warranty.

The bulb is a halogen (part number 53001905). You can view the bulb at searspartsdirect.com. Type in your model number and look under the "Base/Latch Board Assembly" heading for item 6. Although it does not list the size, it does list the type and part number. Your hardware store may be able to cross this number for you and find the bulb you need.

PS There is a better view of the bulb at appliancepartspros.com. Just type in the part number above and you will see a photograph. Are you in Canada? If so, you may enquire one of these sites also to see if they will ship to Canada.

U can take one to the stores which u bought december 2008. Unfortunately there is only 1 year warranty. generally these microwaves should last more than a year... hope u will get warranty and receive a new piece ..

Magnatron is the problem you need to replace it. I believe that this is still under warranty, so you can get a replacement free of charge.
