Reddy heater 40 won't start. Fan comes on, there is red glow, but no ignition. Then it shuts down. I tried at first with some old kerosene which may have fouled everything. Now, even with fresh kerosene it won't fire. Please advise Arne

I have reddy pro 170 i plug it in , the fan & igniter comes on for 10 to 15 seconds then shuts off ,blew through fuel line and nozzle still same result, i do see fuel mist coming out nozzle ,i dont k

You must make sure the mist is not to close to the igniter . If it is it wont be misty enough to ignite. And make sure its in the path of the mist. If its new return it to the store.

Heater turns off leaving lots of smoke and is hard starting

If this is a kerosene heater, the wick is most likely not adjusted up enough,or the wick is contaminated. The fuel could be contaminated also.Remove the old wick and replace it,and refuel it with clean kerosene, after you pour the old out.

Igniter lites up fan kicks on and within 5 sec shuts off

Dustin, The ignitor only glows for 5 seconds, just long enough to ignite the fuel. The heater is shutting down because the photocell does not see the correct flame color.
Since you say "comes on for 5 seconds", I can only assume that there is a flame. You do not specify a lack of flame. I am also assuming that you have had the heater running this heater season and the problem just started.

YOU must find out if the problem is fuel delivery related or electronics related. Start by checking the pump pressure.
