Hello High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply
It is due to some trouble in its voltage regulator system.
regulation and horizontal circuits.
Open the TV, and locate the power regulator section. Usually most Sony sets uses STR regulated type power supply in this stage. If any component related to this STR got faulty, this type of fault occurs. Mostly it may be due to a loose soldering and so on. The STR will heat up, and repeated heating and colling can make tis leg soldering to get loose contacted.
You just updie down the regulated section, and look for any loose sodering or bad soldering in that section. Loose soderings are very difficult to locate, as they may be microscopic in size. So I advice you to resolder most of the soldering points on that section, by applying a little more solder. Be sure not to make any soldering bridge shorts, when resoldering. Chek it out. In most cases this will solve the problem.
If not, replace thetow or three small electrolytic capacitors there, and recheck. When replacing electrolytic capacitors, make sure of its polarity, as they have both positive and negative legs, marked both on the body of the capacitor and on the printed circuit board. Make sure not to reverse the side, otherwise it will burst out when you switch on the Tv.
Do these and see the effect. If you need furthermore assistance, feel free to get me through fixya. OK.
