The lens may be out of position, or there could be dirt/dust in the lens mechanism. You could try some of the following suggestions:
1: Switch on the camera while you hold the shutter button and connect it to the AC adapter or to the USB cable at the same time.
2: Now by default the lens should get properly aligned if not try to twist them slightly by holding down the camera lens with soft hands.
3: Just push and pull the lens slightly as it extends automatically.
4: Now when the lens is in the hard surface power on your camera.
5: Try to hit the camera softly beside the lens which might solve the issue.
You could take it apart, but would you be able to put it back together? Do you have a lens collimator and other gear needed to ensure proper alignment? If you don't have the proper tools, leave the job to a trained professional (or replace the lens).
What is the make and model of your camera? This is needed to troubleshoot the problem and provide the relevant answer.
Also this issue usually comes due to the battery not charged properly or the lens getting stuck and is unable to come out, so please try charging your battery and check for any dust/foreign material stuck in the lens preventing it to come out properly.
hi... The transmission system that moves the lens in and out has a problem with it's gears. There is most likely a gear or an actuator that has fallen out of alignment and is getting stuck at a certain point as the lens comes in/out.There is some disturbacnce of the lens arrangement that is preventing the lens from coming in/out.Any of these symptoms above could trigger the camera to shut itself off to protect itself from further damage. thank u rate me!!!
Dirt /dust in the lens and lens gear box ( this drives zooming only ) preventing optimum functioning. Lens cannot properly come on line ( shutter and diaphragh mechanism then do not come on line ) and the camera switches off. Solution : is ether replace lens unit or dismantle lens to clean out ( from gear box and the helicoil of the lens ).
