I've tried a 4GB memory card in my Kodak CX7430 camera and it doesn't work. I've been able to use any size up to 2GB so I'd suggest going to a 2GB card.

We bought a 4GB SD Card, but the camera fail to format the card. We've tried formatting the card on computer but it still didn't work after inserting back in the Camera.

To correct a Memory Card Lock:
one the side of the memory card is a plastic toggle switch, slide it down and up again to reset the switch and then stick it back into your camera.. see if that fixed the problem.

Formatting sd card 8gb for kodak cx7430

The CX7430 uses SD cards. Your 8GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work with this camera. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

When i install team micro sdhc 4gb memory card in kodak easyshare z612 it says format .i select format but it keeps asking to format or cancell

First check make sure the SDHC card is unlocked I'll provide a diagram for that also I just checked your camera's memory capacity and it's only good for a 1 gig SD card which if using an SDHC memory card might go to 1.5 stretch to 2gig maybe but not a 4gig. My first impression is you got to much memory card for the camera. You might be able to go to the Kodak site and download updated firmware to allow the camera to function with the larger card but that's a maybe as well.
Here are the diagrams

Can i format a 2gig section of my memory card only??maybe split it into two x two ??

Not for use with the CX7430. SDHC cards are electronically incompatible with SD devices. Even if you partitioned an SDHC card, the camera will not read it.

Unable to get the camera to format a PNY Optima SDHC 4GB card itself. Is there a program to use to do this or a way to do this myself?!

Sorry, can't be done. The CX7430 works with MMC and SD cards, which max out at 2GB. It will not work with higher-capacity SDHC cards.

Format sdhc card for Kodak EasyShare CX7430

According to the specs on the Kodak web site, the CX7430 uses SD cards, not SDHC cards. While SDHC cards will fit into SD devices, there are hardware differences that keep them from working. You need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller.
