About my wireless card...

I have an Extensa 5620-4025 laptop, Friday night I hooked it up to my wireless conection and it was working fine. It worked Friday through this morning and now suddenly, it doesn't recognize my network!! I contacted my ISP (Verizon) and was on the phone with Tech support for almost 2 1/2 hours!! They told me (after trying everything they could to resolve the problem) that the problem was with the wireless card. It was not picking up the signal the Westell (Model 327W) was throwing.. I need some help resolving this issue!

Reset the network settings both on the computer and your router and start again. go to the website for your router and enter the ip or mac address for your wirless card and enable it on your network. to get your computer to recognise the network, turn off wireless, plug it in the local area connection first then for a few minnutes then enable the wireless and unplug the wire and it should recognise.

Acer 5420 laptop on D Link DI524 Router

first of all, to check the wireless card on a friends network or a public hotspot, like starbucks. if that internet is slow, then most likely it is your wireless card that is on the fritz. otherwise, if it is fine on these networks there is a compatability issue with your router and your cards. make sure that if your router is very old, it is still compatible with a newer adapter.(e.g. n-wirelesscards maynot work with b-routers. and a-wireless cards will not work with b/g/n routers...or vise-versa.)

what you should do is try another card on that computer and/or try the current card on another computer just to see if it is the PCMIA Card's problem
