Thermostat replacement 1991 olds silhouette

follow the big hose from the top of the radiator to where it goes into the engine. At the engine you will see typically 2 bolts to remove. under that is the thermostat. if it has rubber gasket, simply replace the thermostat and gasket. If it is a paper gasket, CLEAN THOROUGHLY, then rplace using some sort of gasket glue, many types available, they all will work.

Need to know to replace themostat in 2004

Drain the radiator, follow the top radiator hose to the engine, it is connected to the thermostat housing. Loosen and remove the two bolts, lift the housing and remove thermostat, make sure the new thermostat goes back in the exact same way, tighten bolts, make sure pepcock is closed on radiator, refill radiator, start engine, run heater on full blast, add coolant as needed.
