Is there a known problem with the GTX950 radios? My radios worked great for the first week I had them. Now one of them will only transmit for ~ the first two words. The other one of the set works, but doesn't work very far away (compared to everyones out-dated radios in the group).

I brought a Motorola VHF HT1250 radio off of eBay & I programmed it & tested it out & everything worked great for a few hours & then it beeped once & shut off & now will not come back on.

Returning the radio would be your best option. There are many factors which can cause a radio to go dead. Assuming you have checked your battery and battery contacts, and tried a known good battery, if your radio will not power up, there isn't much which can be done.

Best regards.

I have a motorola rdv2020 and after a few minutes stops transmitting. You can see the recieving light come on with the other radio, but no voice is coming through. After shutting it off for a few minutes...

It is possibly a bad or poorly charged battery. Try a known good battery and see if the problem persists. When a battery is failing the first indication is usually loss of transmit. It takes more power to transmit than to receive.

If the battery appears to be the problem, check your charger to see that it is working properly and clean your battery contacts with a pencil eraser prior to giving it a full charge. Then try the original battery one more time. If it still fails, replace it.

If after testing the radio with a known good battery you still have a problem. It is likely your radio is in need of repair. Flat rate repair is available for this type of radio. (Currently running $85.) Or if your radio is less than one year old, contact the vendor where you purchased the radio for warranty procedures.

Best regards.

Whats the value on a great used galaxy dx88hl?

This is a ten meter radio easily converted to the cb band.
The reason for such conversions is to have a hopped up hybrid cb/ten meter radio,
Usually exceeding the 4 watt limit on cb radios imposed by the FCC. A
conversion will also open up many more frequencies to the radio. This is
not illegal to own or listen to, but is illegal to transmit on the cb
band and anywhere else without proper licensure, which is as easy to
obtain as sending away for an electronics2_bing.gif degree on a matchbook.

The Galaxy 88 is not a bad radio for use on cb and they are well known for their loudness on AM, something that is coveted a great deal in cb land.

I would estimate in good working condition - you could get $200 for it.
Of course the market dictates the price.

HERE is one listed for $125 - broken

With the inclusion of printed manuals and documents SEE HERE You could fetch $100 more.

The radios are on the same exact channel but will not connect. One radio works fine, the other one will only receive. But if it is used with another motorola radio it works fine. The quiet filter is not on...

Recheck your Frequency, Interference Code Eliminator and the Qt Filter. If all 3 are set identical. If this doesn't clear up the issue. Next set your Qt Filters and your Code to zero (off). Lastly, on the radio which has problems transmitting, check your battery. A bad battery will cause intermittent transmit issues. Trade the battery with a known good battery and see if the problem clears up. Clean your battery contacts with a pencil eraser.

HT 1000, MT1000, Radius P110 Tx problems

Sorry about taking so long to respond. These radios have worked properly in the past. They have increasingly become worse to the point they will not Tx. I have tried to com-cate with a good radio but unsucc. I'm thinking the Tx freq has been altered? Can one freq (Tx) be altered and not the other (Rx) or will both become altered?
