HT 1000, MT1000, Radius P110 Tx problems

I have a problem, all (3) models Mt 1000 Ht 1000, and P110's will recv fine but will not Tx. You can hear the channel clear, but thats it. Tried new batteries, ran older batteries thru BMS (trianalyzer). Still same problem. My question= Can Tx freq be knocked out of whack alone? Or will both Tx and Rx freq's be affected and knocked out of whack?

    Questions:

Did these radios Tx previously? Did this problem just arise?

Have you tried transmitting to another unit which is in open squelch mode? (Depress the monitor button on the Rx-ing unit and see if you can transmit to it.)

Are you trying these radios with a known-good radio, one which will both Tx and Rx? Or only with one another?

Sounds like if you had them reprogrammed you might want to look at the "Transmit Shifting" A few years ago the FCC changed the shifting on somebands to tighten them up. Also if your not running a repeater and someone programmed it to shift in transmit then that, can be a problem. Also if your radios are programmed with a PL transmit and receive tone and they don't match then that's a cause.... If you can give more information on what frequencies, PL's, repeater your using would be a great help. Example.... Transmit 468.500, Receive 463.500, PL transmit & receive tone 100.
A slip of a number or PL tone will cause you a headache....

No, it is not likely 3 radios, different models would have the same problem at the same time, unless the circumstance were the same to damage each one. The answer to your frequency out of whack question is yes and no. If you have had the radios recently reprogrammed using Motorola software, it is possible the Tx side was reprogrammed incorrectly. Conversely, if you have not had the frequency altered by programming, NO it is not likely 3 different radios would fail in the same way, at the same time.

Likely causes to your problem:
1) Bad batteries. It takes more energy to Tx than to Rx. Check your date codes. On the 3-digit date codes, the first number is the year, followed by the week of the year 840 is 2008 the 40th week. 4-digit date codes read 0840, the first two numbers are the year, followed by the week. Batteries last approx. 18-24 months.
2) A lightning strike or power surge while on the charger, might cause damage to all your units at the same time. Less likely to cause lack of Tx unless they were turned on while charging or if you accidentally depress the PTT while the radio is on the charger and turned on. (This is a big no-no)
3) Your radios operate through a repeater tower and you are out of range, or the repeater is down.
4) You are simply on the wrong channel.
5) Bad re-programming.
6) Recent antenna change to the wrong antenna style.

Try a known good battery on the radio and see if it solves the problem. Think through, what have you changed since last use. Have they been in to a dealership, could the programming have been changed? Have you moved and are no longer in range of a repeater (if you use one)? Try going open squelch as previously described and report back your findings.

Sorry about taking so long to respond. These radios have worked properly in the past. They have increasingly become worse to the point they will not Tx. I have tried to com-cate with a good radio but unsucc. I'm thinking the Tx freq has been altered? Can one freq (Tx) be altered and not the other (Rx) or will both become altered?

Sound from Onkyo CD player well and fine. Then connected the Samsung DVD HT-Z310 to Video3 (L/R audio in, V-in from L/R Audio out and V-out of Samsung) but no sound or nor video on TV? Tried to fix it...

What am I missing here?

There are a lot of models mentioned in this post. What are WE discussing?

* A Samsung HT-Z310 is a Home Theater System.

* An Onkyo TX-DS777 is higher-end AV Receiver that DOES have a Video 3 input which accepts composite video and analog audio.

* An Onkyo CD player is irrelevant to the TV sound in any scenario.

* Unnamed TV.

I don't see any path in your narrative that would carry audio TO the TV. Is there an unmentioned HDMI cable in here somewhere? I see no other audio outputs on the HTZ.

Are you running the HT-Z310 through an Onkyo receiver to somewhere (?) else?

The fewer hops and inteconnects a given signal experiences between its source and your senses, the better. I always run the BEST video from any source to the TV first; the best Audio to the BEST audio electronics. If that helps.

Newbie here..Can anyone enlight me on a set of Motorola Radius P110 2-Way UHF Radios with Batteries and Holding Case. Is there any Value in them or should o=i Junk em? As I said I'm new to 2 way radio and...

The P110 is a construction grade 2-way radio. It was considered one of the best on the market during the 1990s. It came in several versions, including (but not limited to) VHF & UHF; 2 to 8 channels, 2 watt or 4/5 watt models. If your radios are in good working condition, they would be worth keeping. The only consumable would be the battery pack which needs replaced every 2-3 years. (Sidenote: You can check the battery age by looking for a 3 digit number on the battery. The first number is the year and the next two digits are the week of the year the battery was produced. ie. 945 would be either 2009 or 1999 the 45th week.)

Here is a link to the operator's guide for the P110: http://www.qsl.net/bg4aaf/user/motorola/p110S.pdf

Best regards.

Hi, I have Samsung HT-X50 connected with SWA-4000. It was working fine, then for somereason I had to remove and reinsert Tx card. After doing that SWA-4000 is not connecting to HT-X50. Blue light blinks...

You have to reset the connection:

With the home theater system off, press the 0-1-3-5 buttons in that order on the home theater's remote control.

Power on the home theater system.

With the wireless module on, press the [ID SET] button on the back of the wireless module for five seconds.

If your home theater continues to display rear check after you have tried the steps above, call Samsung Customer Care at 1-800-SAMSUNG (1-800-726-7864). Have your model number and serial number on hand to set up service.

Hope this helps!

How to program frequences in a radius p110 radio

The P110 radio is computer programmable. The software is Motorola proprietary, so it is only available to Motorola dealers and a few select types of end-users. The best option is to have it programmed by a dealer. (Just for a cost example: Our dealership does them for $15 plus shipping.)

Onkyo HT-SR750

Check out Onkyo's website: The HT-SR 800 description says "a separate audio connection is necessary" Maybe it is true for the --750 too.
