I have a new Toshiba Satellite A210 with Vista Home edition installed . I downloaded and installed Windows Vista OS patches to bring machine up to date. Now when I boot the machine, the windows shows the standard Toshiba and Vista booting windows. But once it has booted the screen shows completely black, although the standard mouse cursor shows and responds to touchpad movements. I have tried pressing F8 on start-up and getting Windows to restore the system to a restore-point before I donloaded the updates. The restore says it works. But the black screen problem remains. Reading various blogs, some talk of Toshiba hardware problems and CPU settings as a possible solution. I can't set the CPU settings as I have a black screen! The laptop has no personal data on it yet (being very new) so a process to restore laptop to factory settings would work for me. All help gratefully accepted.

Installed Programs not Launching - Toshiba Satellite P205D-S7802. OS: Windows Vista

Well both Chrome and open office you can uninstall then reinstall from downloads from the net.

Just make sure you back up your data to a separate medium first.

The drivers for the Card Reader should be in? Open Device Manager and check Card Reader. Did the Laptop come with Windows 8 or did you do a OS upgrade? Try Toshiba Support : http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/SUPPORT_PORTAL/

After formating WINDOWS 7 I need to download camera software for A210 laptop, where find this online, thanks

You will find all the drivers for the Toshiba A210 laptop at the link below, if there is no driver listed on the website for your operating system (Windows 7), then it is likely that the camera is not compatible with the new OS.

I went from XP Home Edition to Vista Ultimate.

You need to go to the Toshiba website for your location at this location: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp# and select "Download" then type "M45-S331" into the search box. I would suggest you download all the drivers for Vista and install them. Good fortune to you.

Toshiba Satellite A210

Can you check what version of the Realtek driver you are running? Go to the system section under control panel and select device manager.

Beyond that you can go into the audio devices section in the control panel to ensure that your device isn't muted.

Please post some more details and we'll fix you up (Apple comments not withstanding)...

How to install XP in toshiba Satellite L45-S7423 laptop

You cannot uninstall Windows Vista, but you can reinstall your previous operating system, which then replaces Windows Vista. To reinstall your old operating system, you must have the original installation disc. Back up your programs and files, insert the installation disc into your computer, and then reinstall the old operating system. To regain the hard disk space used by Windows Vista, reformat the disk during the reinstallation process. After reinstalling your previous operating system, reinstall your programs and files.

Toshiba Satellite A205-S5804

Download the 8187b drivers from Realtek's site. You then need to go in and edit the .inf file to read like this:

;;****************************************************************************
;; IDs for 98SE/ME/2K/XP
;;****************************************************************************
[Realtek]
%RTL8187B.DeviceDesc% = RTL8187B.ndi, USB\VID_0BDA&PID_8197&REV_0200
%RTL8187B.DeviceDesc% = RTL8187B.ndi, USB\VID_0BDA&PID_8189&REV_0200

After the edit, install as usual from the device manager.
