I have a little different problem on my PB6200. My warranty has expired 3 weeks ago. Yeah... it always happens this way. :(
My PB6200 does not detect any type of signal. And I can't get into the menu either by the remote or by the button on the machine. Only the power button and source button (I see the icons on the screen) still work. I think it's a problem of the mainboard.
Hi, I'm looking for a mainboard too. Just last week one of the PLL clock multipliers wacked-out and overclocked one of the DLP ICs. (confirmed by O-scope and service manual). Guess they timed the warranty just right before the units start to die.

Did you wipe out the codes in it.. It will only hold 3 or 4 code, not sure which.
See your manual, I think you hold program button down ten seconds to wipe all out. Then reprogram. Of course, should not have happened in first place... May be a board problem.
If this does not work you should follow instructions for warranty service. That might be your best course anyway. warranty it, else it may happen again after warranty expires.

ways to fix it online but it will happen again with those half baked solutions. Sometimes 1 week sometimes 6 months but it always happens again. Also, Microsoft adds another year to your warranty and a card to a free month to xbox live.
Sorry, most warranties only cover original repair and no warranty repairs after that. In other words warranty doesn't get a new start date. This is not what you want to hear but as I am in the industry that is the usual wayit operates... Unless you can talk them into extending another year or two....
Defective light engine. Contact Sony support. They warrantied a lot of these sets even after the warranty had expired because of so many going bad after 3-4 yrs. Have the complete model and serial number ready when you call them.
Sounds like you have a defrost problem either the Timer /Heater or Bi-metal stat is bad. you can unthaw and the unit will work fine for about a week until it frosts up again Where was this screw they said was loose?? have them check the defrost system.
you both should just have the phone replaced from where you both the phone from.....it is still under warranty...so the problems sound like the mainboard is having issues, you could get the phone's firmware reflash but seeing that the warranty is still good , just have it exchange for a new one.
