Will not read memory cards comes up with memory card error card locked. When i put memory card into computer or another camera the card is read without any bother , so memory cards are ok.

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
The card needs to be formatted in the camera, not on the computer. Try going into the camera menu and find "reset"...follow the on-screen instructions.
Look for a manual lock next to your XD memory card slot on your computer. Your computer may not have one but there are a few that do.
If there isn't one, go to My Computer, look for your memory card in the window. Move the mouse over to the memory card and select properties. Make sure that the read only box isn't filled in. If it is, click on it until it is empty.
Copy the contents of the memory card to your computer. Reinsert the memory card into your camera and reformat the memory card in your camera for the utilities option on your camera. If it doesn't reformat, there could be something wrong with the memory card.
Memory card error is common problems in various sd cards and cf cards. I took a closer look at my little SD memory card. It has a sliding lock on it to protect data. Yes there are ways to recover your priceless pictures, try memory card recovery softwares, there are many site available in the internet, or you may purchase in store selling digicameras. don't format your card!!!
