Mouse stopped working, but appears ok, batteries ok, can't determine problem

Ok I have a logitech mouse which I've owned for about two years, and recently it started to act funny. It (the cursor) would stop moving for a moment and then it would start again in less then a second, like a dirty ball mouse. I've experienced this problem before, when my receiver is to far away from my mouse. However they were very close together when i started having these problems. Now the cursor doesn't move at all. The 'connect' button seems to do nothing, or bring up the 'new hardware' dialog. Both the receiver and the mouse appear to be fine, but the fact remains that the cursor does not move. Help anyone? Yes , similar problem. The receiver isn't receiving. How long is the life of a cordless mouse.

Is the batteries good. If so try,

Normal 0 Press the Receiver button (and the lights will start flashing.
Then if the Keyboard isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the board to connect the keyboard to the receiver.

If the MOUSE isn’t working, push the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the mouse to connect to the receiver. Then they should work okay.
Hope this helps. Bud

Logitech M510 suddenly stopped working

What does the device manager say about the hardware?
It could be loss of the usb device controller. Windows XP is old and that is an indication that the hardware is old too.

Clicking issues on logitech wireless mouse

  • 1 Use the mouse on the same side of the computer where the Logitech USB transmitter is attached so there is a clear signal between the transmitter and the mouse.
  • 2 Check the USB transmitter that comes with the Logitech mouse to be sure it is correctly plugged into the computer. The red LED should be illuminated on the transmitter if it is connected properly. If not, the signal cannot reach the wireless mouse.
  • 3 Turn the mouse upside down to check the on/off switch. Be sure it is switched on.

  • 4 Check the battery compartment by sliding the top housing off the mouse to confirm the rechargeable batteries are installed correctly.
  • 5 Charge the batteries if the mouse LED does not illuminate. The charger cord plugs into the front end of the mouse and the other end connects to a free USB port on the computer.
  • 6 Clean the desk surface or other flat area if the mouse is not tracking. The problem could be dirt or grease interfering with the tracking ability of the device.
  • 7 Open the Logitech software called SetPoint, which manages the mouse, to troubleshoot button functions. Open the program by double-clicking SetPoint from the list of software on the computer, then click "Mouse Settings." Click the "My Mouse" tab and check (or uncheck) all the task boxes that are desired for operating different mouse functions, then click "Apply" and "OK."

    Hi,
According to your problem, If you can't access your mouse in your then first check the receiver battery of the mouse is OK. Try to update the external device driver from device manager. You can also try download the device driver from the product website. If it doesn't't help you then replace the mouse.

Hadn't used my laptop and vx mouse for about 2 years. was fine when last used. now, nothing. threw in fresh batteries. cursor won't budge.

I guess you need to pair the mouse with the receiver once again. Logitech provides connection utility on their support site - http://www.logitech.com/en-us/428/3271?softwareid=4338&osid=14&section=downloads.
However, I would check that the battery connectors are still OK on the mouse. When you turn the mouse on, does the light come on?

I have problem with my logitech wireless mouse it wont work i have an acer laptop

Hello, have you tried new batteries? Mine stops working even though the red light is still on, so you'd think the batteries are ok....and it's always new batteries that fixes it.

My 2 year old son got hold of my Logitech wireless mouse, and coincidentally it has stopped working. The batteries have been changed, but still no joy. Could something have been pressed to disconnect the...

Yes, it sounds like something has been pressed.

There is a small button underneath your wireless mouse, and a more prominent one on the receiver connected to your computer.

To pair the mouse to the receiver, press the button on the receiver, then the button on the mouse. That should fix it up.

Mouse stopped working, but appears ok, batteries ok, can't determine problem

Hope this helps others. My mouse stopped controlling cursor but buttons worked. Problem was it would not work on a black table. Slip a piece of white paper under it and waaala! It works. I'm thinking optical mouse and dark surface might be an issue.
