GE XL44 Spectra Gas Oven Range

Unit takes 15 to 20 minutes to get to temp, (350). Flame looks very weak compared to the broiler heater tube, the lower oven heater tube shows a lazy flame and when the temp readout says it's at temp it seems like it is not nearly as high, much lower temp. Why would the gas flow slower below yielding a lazy-like flame?

I have the same problem. Tkaes 15-20 minutes to heat up to 400 degrees.

Mine is worse! It takes 40 minutes to get to 430 - never gets to 450 or higher.

The oven pilot does not light. The broiler will not work. The only thing that does is the light. GE XL44 range. The burners light and the pilots stay lit.

If you have standing pilots, make sure the pilot for the oven/broiler is lit as well.  When you turn the thermostat up to call for heat, you should see the pilot get larger. That larger pilot flame heats a hydraulic sensor and opens the main burner valve.

Igniter is fine. oven won't heat . broiler fine

Maybe the wholes are plugged with food or residue not allowing the gas to flow. Unplug it with a paperclip. Even though the ignitor looks fine it may not be giving enough amps to light the second and subsequent times. Ignitors are farely cheap for this model and if ur technical can do it urself. All that is required is screw driver, igniter, wire cutters (strippers), and two PORCELAIN wire connectors. Good luck.

Xl44 oven burner pulses, doesnt properly heat up.

it seems the burner in the oven is clogged, by grease, carbon or corrosion, it may need replacing, specialy if this is an older unit

Lower oven burner will not light.

Hi I have a older GE that the oven won't light. It is a gas range that is electric ignited. The top burners do work but the oven will not light. Is it pricey to have this fixed?

GE Spectra XL44 oes not heat to desired setting

The oven sensor ( WB21X5301) is suppose to tell the oven control when to turn on and off to reach and maintain oven temp, but before you go replacing it, try to observe how long it takes from the time you turn the oven on to the time the oven ignites. Ignition should be 30 seconds to about 90 seconds. If it is taking a very long time, replace the igniter (
    WB2X9154
). Ignitors get weaker over time, and this should be looked at first, as both parts are not real cheap, so you don't want to just start throwing parts at it. Here is a trick you can try: On the JGBP90 (model you posted under) the broil ignitor is the same part number as the oven ignitor, so if the broiler, which is generally used much less than the oven, is working fine you can interchange the two ignitors to see if that solves your oven temp problem without having to buy a oven temp sensor first.
