Frigidaire GLTF1240A Front Load Washer Logo
Anonymous Posted on Oct 22, 2010

Water is not draining from my Frigidaire GLTF1240A Front Load Washer. I took the hoses off (found 21 cents), made sure none of the other hoses are kinked, used a shop vac to clean the standing water out of the drain line, reattached everything, plugged it back in and set it for a wash cycle with a few towels. When it gets to the rinse part it spins but nothing drains and when it gets to the final rinse part it spins around but nothing happens again. The light on the bottom of the cycle lights up as if the washing is done, however, the water is still in the drum well. Does it have to be the drain pump at this point? When it gets to the "Draining" parts there is a slight humming that comes from the pump. Thanks for you help.

I will do that. I suspected it would be the pump or that the pump was well on it's way. Thanks for the help and the quick response.

Probably your pump, bra wires and bobby pins are the worst culprit. check that the vanes on the impeller are not chewed or worn.

My Frigidaire Gallery front load washer is leaking water from underneath. Ideas?

It is so common that the drain leaks in many ways and is the most problematic fault in a washing machine. In all occasions it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that water has leaked then as the drain hose pump/valve and fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for possible leaks here. In some cases the drain hose would be clogged at the drain end to outlet of the house and so there will be back flushing resulting in overflow to the outside. Also the drain pump/valve can be clogged or the drain hose clamps can be loose on the grip which can all cause the leak to occurs. Removing and Cleaning the drain pump/valve, tightening of the hose is also very important. Also water can leak if there is gaps on the front door gaskets and must be checked but this will happen only during the cycle and not on the drain cycle end.

E 10 code what do u do

I'm assuming your washer is a Kenmore or Frigidaire front loading washer. E10 error code is an indication of a slow fill, took to long to fill, no fill or the fill water could be siphoning out the drain hose as it's filling with water.

Check to make sure that the drain hose is not stuck too far down the stand pipe and causing the water to siphon out. Check the cold and hot water supply to the washer for any restrictions. If you have a slow fill remove the hoses from the washer and check for restricted filter screens in the water inlet valve. Check for any restricted hose screens too.

How do I replace the pump on my front load washer? GLTF1240A

The pump may have an obstruction in it. It could be a coin or anything of that nature. The pump is located on the bottom front of the machine. If you have a removable panel on the front lower of the machine, remove that. There should be 2 screws to remove. There will be 2 hoses connected to the pump. Remove the hoses. (IMPORTANT...have a bowl or pan to catch the water otherwise it will go all over the floor...) There will be 2 screws holding the pump on. Before you remove the pump, turn the washer on so it will try to drain. See if the pump turns on. You will be able to hear if it is obstructed. After that remove the pump and look inside to see if anything is inside(ie.. coins ect.) If so remove them then repeat the process in reverse to get it back together.

Fridigaire washer that won't spin

Now remove the two screws on the front lower panel and pull the panel
in side you will see the drain pump if you did not have a shop vac go to the auto parts store and buy a pair of radiator hose clamps and clamp the hose line as close to the washer as possible.(but put down some towels as water always stays there) then pull the tub to pump hose by depressing the squeeze clamp(now while your at the auto parts id get a screw clamp to replace the spring clamp it makes putting the hose back on a lot easier)pull the hose off. Then pull the pump to drain hose off .Remove the two 5/16 in screws securing the pump to the washer base.Unplug the connector and remove the pump inspect the pump for foreign objects, broken or stripped impeller blades . if the impeller are stripped you will have to replace the pump then form the front of the washer take a piece of water hose with one end cut off and run it down the pump to drain end of the drain and reassemble the unit
