    Trying divide (110 angle 0 deg) / (50 j80) =
    I typed (110 SHIFT (-) 0 ) / (5080 ....and it stops. Thanks but I guess
    Im making this hard.

  • Anonymous Oct 19, 2010

Got it. Calculator was set to COMP. Reset it to CMPLX. Then I got the "angle"
sign like it should have. So I typed (110 angle 0 deg) / (50 80ENG)= and got the
right answer. Thanks for putting up with me.

Just divide them normally. The result will appear in whichever complex display format you have selected.

1 1 0 SHIFT (-) 0 / ( 5 0 + 8 0 ENG ) =

Don't leave out the parentheses, or you'll get (110 angle 0 divided by 50) plus j80.

  • Anonymous Oct 19, 2010

Thank you for your response. I still have trouble. I type in the following:

    110 shift - 0 / (50 80ENG)= ...yes?
    when typed...it looks like below:

110Rec(0/(50 80 and it doesnt let me go further... sorry Im sure Im messing this up.

  • kakima Oct 19, 2010

First, let me correct myself. You'll also need a set of parentheses around the first number.

You're leaving out the between the 50 and the 80. Also, the (-) is the key above the RCL, not the - key above the =.

    ( 1 1 0 SHIFT (-) 0 ) / ( 5 0 8 0 ENG ) =

What is the improper fraction of 2/10

I think you want to reduce the fraction to the lowest terms.

Improper fraction 1 3/4 produces an improper fraction of 7/4 (1 times denominator plus numerator)

To reduce a fraction, we need to divide the numerator (number on top) and the denominator (number on the bottom) by the greatest common factor (GCF).

To get the GCF, find the factors of the numerators and denominators and find the greatest number that is in both lists.

The factors of 2 are 1, 2.

The factors of 10 are 1, 2, 5, 10.

The greatest (largest) number is both lists is 2, so we divide the numerator and denominator by 2 and get 1/5.

Good luck,

How to solve franctions

Multiplying Fractions:
  1. Make sure you're working with two fractions.
  2. Multiply numerator x numerator, then multiply denominator x denominator.
Dividing Fractions:
  1. Make sure you're working with two fractions
  2. Flip the second fraction upside down.
  3. Change the division sign into a multiplication sign.
  4. Multiply top x top and bottom x bottom.
Converting Mixed Numbers into Improper Fractions:
  1. Convert mixed numbers into improper fractions.
  2. Take the whole (non-fraction) number and multiply it by the denominator.
  3. Add that answer to the numerator.
  4. Put that amount over the original denominator and you will have an improper fraction.
Method for Adding and Subtracting Fractions:
  1. Find the lowest common denominator (bottom number). For both adding and subtracting fractions, you'll start with the same process.
  2. Multiply fractions to match the lowest common denominator.
  3. Add or subtract the two numerators (top number) but NOT the denominators.

How can I simplify a fraction after adding two fractions?

Factor both the numerator and denominator, and then divide both the numerator and denominator by the greatest common factor.

For example, 1/3 + 1/6 = 2/6 + 1/6 = 3/6. We have to simplify 3/6. The factors of 3 are 3 and 1. The factors of 6 and 1, 2, 3, and 6. The greatest common factor is 3. Dividing the numerator and denominator by 3 results in 1/2.

Good luck.

How to compute fraction multiplication?

Multiply the numerators (the top numbers) and multiply the denominators (the bottom numbers).

As an example, 3/4 x 4/5 = (3 x 4)/(4 x 5) = 12/20. Now we should reduce it to lowest terms by dividing numerator and denominator by the greatest common factor. I divided the numerator and denominator by 4 and got 3/5.

Good luck.

Can you help me on this question?

This answer is correct. 4/12 divided by 2/2= 1/3
The reciprocal of 2/2 is 2/2
Then you multiply straight across and reduce to get 1/3

How does dividing mixed numbers compare with dividing fractions?

This may not be what you want, but I turn the mixed number into a fraction. Say 5 1/2, you multiply the whole number (5) by the denominator for the fraction (2), then add the numerator. So you have 5X2+1. That is the new numerator, it goes over the denominator. This gives you 11/2. To check it divide the numerator by the denominator. 2 into 11 gives you 5 (Rem) 1. 1 is the numerator now and it goes over the denomerator. 5 1/2.
I know it sounds like a lot, but try about ten or so, it becomes 2nd nature. You can make it all into decimal, 5 1/2 becomes 5.5, but now you have to put more numbers into the equation.
This is true. I had a math teacher ask me if he had to cut down a tree so I'd have enough scratch paper.

What is a mixed number or in a fraction in simplest form 0.15%

A mixed number is a number composed of an integer (whole) number and a proper fraction, one that has a numerator less than the denominator. Example 2 1/3 =2+ 1/3. 2 is the integer part, and 1/3 is the proper fraction part.
Certain fractions can be simplified further because the numerator and denominator share a (common) factor. By cancelling the common factor in the numerator with the factor in the denominator,
one gets a fraction with smaller numerator and denominator.
For example the percentage you provide 0.15% can be converted to 15/10000.
Since 15 and 1000 are both multiples of 5, the number 5 is a common factor in both. 15=5*3, and 10000=5*2000
Cancel the two 5 (simplifying by 5) in numerator and denominator leaves 3/2000. Thus
0.15%= 0.15/100=0.0015=3/200
I hope that this makes sense to you.

How do you represent the set of rational numbers in symbol form

hi maybe the formula below will help you

A rational number is a number that can be expressed as a fraction with an integer numerator and a non-zero natural number denominator. Fractions are written as two numbers, the numerator and the denominator, with a dividing bar between them. In the fraction written mn or
61f3a73e6711407c72f79e8deb797c6a.png m represents equal parts, where n equal parts of that size make up one whole. Two different fractions may correspond to the same rational number; for example 1⁄2 and 2⁄4 are equal, that is:
38aeb170898abdf282b4ef5400015067.png If the absolute value of m is greater than n, then the absolute value of the fraction is greater than 1. Fractions can be greater than, less than, or equal to 1 and can also be positive, negative, or zero. The set of all rational numbers includes the integers, since every integer can be written as a fraction with denominator 1. For example −7 can be written −7⁄1. The symbol for the rational numbers is Q (for quotient), also written d45a4aa156a8ac07ab80e7d9cf5fa79f.png.
