My Admiral top loading washing machine, Model # AW20N2V will not spin. It will fill with water and agitate for the wash cycle but will not spin the water out. What do you think the problem is and can we fix it ourselves?
After spinning it does not release the water
Mine did the same, it was the latch on the side that keeps lid locked in spin mode, it was broken, mine actually stopped doing anything and we thought it was done but then we noticed the latch was broken and my husband put a screwdriver in the slot moved it around and now my washer works perfect? Maybe this is your problem?
Ours is doing the same thing. The repairman came to look at it and said that the timer is out. He is going to charge us over $200 for parts and labor, I think we can find the part cheaper and replace it ourselves.

I have the same problem, and while it agitates there is aloud noise, and sometimes a burning rubber smell.
