26PF5321D/37 phillips TV Doesn't Turn On

My TV started acting up today. It started by shutting itself off. Then I'd simply turn it back on and it would be fine. Now it wont turn on at all. After unplugging it for awhile all that happens is that the lcd light turns green like normal but then the tv never turns on.

The Lcd light then changes to red and blinks fast 3 times and then slow 5 times as if it's telling me something in Morse Code.

Thanks if you can point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it. If I do need to take it in. What kind of cost can I expect?

I have a phillips tv model number 32PT6441/37 and when you turn it on it stays on for about 30 to 45 seconds and shuts back off and after about 15 times of turning it on it will stay on

I have the same TV, exact same problem, hope someone posts a solution.

My 42" Phillips Tv will no longer turn on. The power light continues to blink in red and when unplugged and plugged back in it almost acts as though it will turn on again but goes back into turn off mode...

you have a bad power supply, and the tv goes to protect mode, undo the back and look for any bulged or open cap, and replace it.

Blinking light on 37" Dynex LCD

I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.

Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.

Problem

power board is bad if it doesnt power up -- the red flashing lights mean that you need to upgrade the software-- you can get a new software upgrade on the website for philips --- use a thumb drive to install it into the television
