iFixitMotorla phones can do this with they have a problem with their boot loader or ... when iturn on my phone and it does its power up, i wait for my service to ... i dont know how to fix my phone it always goes off and on i will give 150$ if .... is turn itself on and offnever getting to the start screen. and it only does it if its plugged in.

There is a way to do a Master Reset on MOTO Q phones that cannot access the standard Master Reset method:

1. Power off the Q
   
2. Press and Hold the Center Select Key, while powering up the phone
   or
   Press and Hold the Z & E keys, while powering up the phone
   
3. The MASTER RESET screen will appear
   
4. Press Yes
   
5. This will restore the phone to factory settings
   

Try holding the power button and the down button at the same time. After holding both buttons for 10 to 20 seconds, the phone should shut down. Doing this when you start the phone will take you to the boot loader menu

You need to get to the boot loader menu. Press and hold the volume down button, then power up the device while keeping the volume down key pressed, that will get you into the boot loader.
The first thing you should try is just to select the option that lets you restart the phone.

If the phone doesn't restart successfully, get into the boot loader again and select safe mode. if the phone lets you into safe mode, try deleting any extra files and/or apps that you most recently downloaded then restart the phone.

If that doesn't work, repeat the steps above to get into the boot loader and then select factory data reset. This will completely reset the phone to factory specs, this is a last resort option, but it will get rid of whatever is causing the phone to have issues.

If none of that works, you need to contact your cell phone provider to see if they can do anything for you.

When does it shut itself off? Is this happening time you press the power button and during the boot cycle it shuts off without completing the boot to windows? If it shuts down after you've worked on it for a while it could be that it is running hot. If you let it sit a while to cool off then press the power button, if it completes the boot cycle and allows you to work it is definitely running hot. Normally when they run hot if you immediately try to reboot, it will fail. If you let it cool off it will boot successfully. Computers run hot because of a fan not working, dust clogging the fan vents or the Thermal Paste around the CPU and Heat Sink has become hard or too thin to keep the unit cool. If it's not running hot you might have a power supply or motherboard issue. Try removing the power cord and press and hold the Power Button for 30 seconds to release any Static Buildup. Then plug the power cord back in and try to reboot.

Yeah, I Just Brought A New Phone Turned It Off And It Came Up With That Stupid DeMSBL boot loader, it happens if you turn the phone on holding * or 9, just take battery out !!

you have entered the boot loader program by pressing*# and end call button i belive to continue just press the red button again
