Hello again. I inherited a Laser 55 from a family member a few weeks ago. It had a few issues getting started but I was able to fix them and get the stove running thanks to redniten on this website. When running I noticed a large yellow flame. I decided to get a "tune up" kit which came from a Laser 56 kit I found online. I checked most of the parts numbers and they matched the 55. I also compared the old gaskets to the new ones as I took it apart. They all match expect the fuel nozzle gasket. The old one appears to be in good order so I think I reuse it. Is that okay or can/should I try to use the 56 gasket? I got to the burner mat and I am glad I got a new mat. The old gasket was shot, not much left to it. A lot of carbon and gunk in the pot. I have been scraping, sanding, steel wooling the thing trying to get it clean. Are there any tricks of the trade in cleaning the mat area? I have been going at it for a while. Also, I have never installed a burner mat before. I understand that if I install it wrong it won't fire properly. Any tips on installing the burner mat? I would hate to install the mat wrong, re-assemble the unit only to find out the mat was installed wrong, buy a new mat, and do it all over again. Any advice on the three questions would be great. Thank you.

As long as the gasket isn't broken you can reuse it but be careful becaust they are very easily broken.
I use a thin bladed screwdriver to remove the carbon and old glue, then vacuum up the mess. I sometimes use my sandblaster just for good measure.
If I'm not mistaken, there is a notch on the burner mat. Put the notch under the fuel inlet. I put a bead of the white adhesive all the way around the mat. I also put a drop in the middle. Press the mat down good and flat.
Hope this helps.

Paypal unfairly limitation account

Hello,

The only way to resolve your Paypal issue is to have a family member present to talk to the Paypal agent to explain your situation as emails to them mostly get ignored or not even read as it is easy to compromise a persons email account and pretend to be that person. This is why you will need help from a family member who can speak in your behalf. They are very serious about account fraud and this is why they do this. Sorry to hear of your troubles and many folks do have issues with Paypal. But, it can be fixed with the help of a family member helping you. Regards, Dennis

Laguna Gearbox issue ??

I would say that you should go back to the shop and tell them whats going on. They didnt fix the problem properly in the first place and that is bad business. Look for another shop and see what they say.

Mits 55908 Convergence problem

Good Day, John;
It sounds like the Convergence IC's have poor solder connections, by re-soldering the convergence output IC's should solve your problem. The IC's are large and mounted to large silver "heat sink" with STK 392 # on them. Good Luck, big IRISH.
