Hi all .ive had the same problem,a thick black line down screen.sometimes it flickers from top to bottom and other permantly in view.but i have solved it.forget your ic boards and taking apart tv.have you got either a ps3 or wii connected to tv.if so unplug power lead from socket and relocate in seperate socket.make sure the lead is completely free of any other leads and you might just find this works.i think the power lead creates some sort of frequency that the tv picks up .good luck hope it works

Black vertical band on tv screen

Actually I am not sure about this one, but I like to suggest to leave the unit running for at least 24 hours and see what happens. Going by the amount of time it has not being used it is hard to tell what actually occurs, the advice is to leave it on standby for any period of time. See what happens anyway, you can't do anymore damage than you already got can you? Else, keep switching it on and off, it may clear it that way. If you are able get a update on-line, re-program you tv it worked for my Samsung 39 inch. Good Luck

LCD monitor have Vertical lines and black colour become greenish

normally the 19" resolution can support up to 1280*1024, but if it comes with vertical lines in full screen, it might indicate the panel is no longer to work and probably it's time to replace new one.

Horizontal Line through middle of TV screen

That sounds like simple ring-cracks in the vertical circuit, most likely the vertical Ic itself... On the printed circuit side of the Tv look at the vertical Ic and examine it carefully under some magnification where each pin of the Ic solders to the board. See if you can find any cracks in those solder connections.

Black horizontal lines across bottom 1/3 of screen

This is due to vertical section failure. Change the vertical supply rectifier diode and supply filters. Then check zener diode leakage in pumpup circuit section. Also check any electrolytic capacitors leakage in vertical section. If it is old model tv change vertical height, vertical lenearity presets also. I hope given details useful to you.

One thing you should not do with electronic devices which have a start up proceedure is to turn the power off, and then on again without a wait of about five minutes. Some equipment manuals warn you about this, and specify a longer period. The start-up has to have time to reset. It will be more likely to reset if you do not leave it on standby, and even unplug it. In your TVs case you need to describe the distorted picture as it may give a clue to a fault, or incorrect start-up. The horizontal line indicates the frame timebase had stopped working. No picture could be a fuse blown inside the set, or a timed cutout which may reset after a time. Try after several hours to see if it comes on. If it is just the frame timebase (vertical) it is worth repairing.

No picture

You have an intermittant vertical sweep circuit! It could be the vertical out put IC solder connections on the printed circuit board, or maybe the IC itself has poor connections between the IC and the contact legs that mount the IC, or another componet in the vertical sweep circuit. If you know how to solder and unsolder, work on printed circuit boards, then you shoul have no problem replacing the vertical sweep circuit. Good Luck
