I have a gxl 2200 mic and my computer acknowledges the mic but i cant record anything because when i play it back there is no sound

right click on the speaker icon and make sure external mic is set up. One time I had to use my internal mic to record stuff it was a pain.

The usual procedure when a mic is not working - check that the phantom power (+48V) is working, then try another cable.

If the mic is out of warranty and you're low on bucks, you might have to fix it. Unscrew the base, carefully holding the body sleeve up against the screen. Then carefully slide off the body to expose the PC boards. Check the boards and wires for cracked copper film and bad solder joints. Two tiny Philips screws will allow you to remove the REAR board for full inspection of both. If all is good physically, start checking components with a multimeter. (if you don't know how, StartPage it.) The circuit is similar to the one below, EXCEPT there is a low cut switch on the CAD 2200. If you find a bad component, most of them are pretty cheap to replace.

lol. no im sorry. I'm tell you that there is no built in mic unless there is a built in cam. if you have a built in cam try recording a video with sound. talk laugh play music. Then play it back. Also you can click Start then All Programs then click Accessories.
Now click Entertainment then Voice Recorder. Test to see if it plays you voice back. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Happy Holidays!

This camera does not have a Mic - so it does not have capability to record or playback sound. It will record video but it will be completely mute on playback.

This Mic is not a stereo Mic. If you're using a windows computer, check your sound control panel to see if the mic wasn't suddenly set to two channel device.

Good day, sir/ma'am , there are several reasons why a mic does not work, let me give some. 1. its not activated, to check if it is activated, load the sound recorder program on windows. press record and shout on the mic, wave patterns can be seen on the recorder. 2. you may activate the mic and speaker if you cant hear the voices by. opening the volume control settings, options, properties, place a check on mic volume. there are other optons as well. 3. the mic is physically damage due to open wiring. get a new one. hope this may help. thanks

go to control panel> hardware and sound> sound; click recording tab, select USB Audio Codec, select Properties, click Advanced tab, select 2 Channel 16 bit 44100Hz and then hit apply. You have to make sure you have the 2 channel option selected. otherwise the computer just recognizes one channel and assigns it for playback. HTH

The GXL 2200 is a condensor microphone. It needs Phantom power to operate, and get the correct levels for recording. Your lexicon interface should have a button/switch that says +48V phantom power, or something similar. This needs to be enabled before the GXL 2200 will work.

You probably just need to unmute your mic. Go through the wizard to test the mic and make sure your speakers aren't close to the mic to avoid feedback.

Sounds like the mic is bad. The only way to confirm this is to plug a different mic into the computer and see if that works. If the second mic gives no sound then the computer may have an issue. Hope this helps.
