Kenwood cannot be unlocked without the code on line.
This has to go to Kenwood or a radio de-coding company.

If you do not have the security code for the kenwood, you can disconnect the battery which should clear out the code (I would leave it off for at least 15 minutes), reconnect the battery and then follow the manual to enter the security code (Page 25) http://www.kenwoodusa.com/UserFiles/File/UnitedStates/Consumer/Manuals/kdcx993.pdf
Unfortunately Kenwood codes are only available from the Main Dealer or
by using a Radio Decoding Service who will connect a laptop to read the
working code inside your radio`s memory chip (EEPROM)
ok this worked for the kdc-x693 I just did it.first you need the remote. then turn on the car and unit instantly hold the auto button down and rotate the right control knob clockwise untill the display reads this. security clear
code
just like that on the screen.then tap the 5 button on the remote.
that will scroll through the letters on the #5 button then push the >>button on the remote you need to spell kcar out on the screen.
