I have a brand new just out of the box haier wine cooler, model # HVZ040AB. when plugged in, the LED display lights up, the temperature adjustment instructions were followed, but the unit will not refridgerate, nor will the motor / fan/ compressor turn on....suggestions?

This, apparantly, has been a problem for many buyers of this product. It looks to me like they have a severe QA problem, and release them bad in the box to their customers. Scroll down on this webpage, and read the reviews...not good news:

Having a 1 out of 5 star rating, this product has some quality issues out of the box, but when it works, people enjoy it, so it may be a good unit IF you get one that works.
I would contact them, and arrange for a replacement, or get your money back. Choice, of course, is yours.

Magic Chef Wine Cooler Model #MCWC50DBT will not hold correct temperature. Temps fluctuate between about 45 to often 70 degrees F. Also, often get an "EEF" error message.

Mr. Lindquist: We are experiencing essentially the same problem. Have tried replacing the temperature control board without change. Would be interested to know if you get a solution.

Wine temp on Haier wine cooler BC112G went to LL, opened up and some champagnes frozen, other wines very cold, condensation all over door, how do you fix this error?

The error is likely caused by a bad temperature sensor. The control board may still be Okay.
Replacing both of them is recommended.

We got a Haier 42 wine cooler. The motor doesn't run.

This is something you can not fix yourself. Remember it might cost as much as a new wine cooler to repair. As for free estimate on repait. That way if it cost to much your not out anything. Rus

My name is Huum,

You have a faulty cold control (temperature control)
The cold control is a temperature actuated switch and should open when the set temperature has been achieved. If the control does not open and turn the compressor off, it will continue to run and all items in the fresh food section will begin to freeze.
Check the control for continuity.
And or need a hands on service tech to diagnose this fault

Haier BC112G service & user manual:

To adjust the temp of your unit:

Push & hold the red wine & white wine button at the same time.This will start the temp adjust. You will notice the plus sign & the negative sign on these same buttons, use them to adjust temp. When you are done hit the light button & it will record the new temp.
