I have a toshiba rear projection tv the number on the remote says ct-90090 not sure if thats the model but the colour is to light and hard to see and is getting a red tint to it do you think it needs fixing or is it on its way out

It sounds like your switching power supply or you High Voltage power supply has malfunctioned. These sections control all power to the TV and can produce the situation you are describing. If you do not have a background in electronics, I would suggest that you have a TV repairperson come over and check your TV out.

I say this because there are voltages in a TV set that can kill, so caution is needed.

Well, you didn't ask what you wanted but I think you should try 2 things. One; unplug TV's power cord for 5 minutes, reboot. Two go into the customers menu and try to adjust the convergence.

If these fail call a factory authorized service dealer. Good luck.

You need to program the remote to work with the TV. And I hate to point you this way, but I've looked around for the manual on this remote, and can't find it, so, go to the Toshiba website and email Customer service that you have lost your manual for the remote. See if they will email you one. I bet they will.
