Question about Toshiba 50A50 50" Rear Projection Television

Help I just purchased a used toshiba 50a50 how can I find the remote that goes with this tv and owners manual, how do obtain it was manufactured in october 2000. would a universal remote let me use the picture in picutre effect

No a universal would not let you use any functions but the power volume and channel up and down. Go to http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=gmi&smodel=50A50&brand_pn=TOSHIBA_50A50&mode=large&uid=11646537713590 to get an original replacement remote alot less then what toshiba sells it for. Hi,I have this same model Tv. The Remote control Model is CT-90037 http://www.tacp.com/televisions/product.asp?model=CT-90037 You can pick it up often times on Ebay or Amazon. Hope that helps.

I am trying to program my universal remote control for a citizen tv model no JCTV3242A

Hell, depending on the brand and model of your universal remote, there are two procedures to program it to work with your citizen TV, first the direct code procedure(list of codes included in the owners manual) or the code scan procedure consisting of pressing certain keys on your remote untill the code that programs your citizen TV is obtained. I suggest going into the website provided by the manufacturer of your remote to obtain both procedures.

It sounds like you are in Closed Caption Text Mode. You should be able to get into the main menue with the Toshiba remote, get to the close caption Icon and turn off Close Caption. This should take care of it.

Tv only go to channel 13

Check your owners manual for instructions to program your remote(you didn't list a model number so I can't give you step by step instructions.) If that doesn't work, you have 2 options. 1) Contact your TV manufacturer for help. 3) Purchase a 3rd party remote that works with your tv.

Need Toshiba remote access code for this product so I can use a universal remote to operate the VCR and DVD

remote codes are set by the manufacurer of the remote not the tv. if there are any others not listed in instructions for remote, the manufacturer of remote would have them. most combo unit are not able to be programmed into universal remotes due to the fact that there are alot of specialized function buttons on original remote. you can obtain a replacement remote thru toshiba

While Toshiba does appear to make a good number of owner's manuals available online, I was unfortunately not able to locate one for this specific model TV through Toshiba's support database.

I was however, able to locate two suggested options that you may wish to pursue:

1) If your TV is still under warranty, you may e-mail a request to [email protected] to obtain a replacement copy.

2) If your TV is no longer under warranty, you will need to contact a local distributor using information provided through the link below.

it could be high voltage cap located by flyback,if you have back off of tv

and turn tv on,you will see green led's turn on,(on the board)if they turn off there is a small blue high voltage cap hidden under glue(i believe it's a 102 cap)that would be the one change,99% of time that is what will fix problem
