Pictures are blurry; quality of photos seem compromised

The photos I've been taking with my Canon PowerShot A95 don't seem to be as crisp and clean as they should be.  I've had the camera for about 3 years and the quality in the past has been impeccable.  Lately though the photos are blurry and not clearly focused.  I'm using the same settings and the photos are being taken in the same conditions/lighting/etc., that I've taken photos in in the past.  What's going on with my camera?  I just took pictures at a big event and was seriously disappointed with the results. Can anyone tell me what is going on?  I want my camera to take really good pictures again!

As simple as this may sound, have you cleaned the lens lately? A lot of image quality deterioration comes from a finger print or other smudge on the lens. Digital cameras are succeptable to even the smallest gunk on the lens. Because the lens element is very tiny, use a cotton swab with a drop of lens cleaner (or isopropyl alcohol) to thouroughly clean and dry the lens. If it isn't a dirty lens, check your file-size and flash settings.

Our Canon Power shot A95 is used to take close up photos of jewellery ,with a white background. We have been useing the TV mode with the MF to focus.Howerev the pictures are over enposed, what can we do to...

Instead of shutter priority "Tv" mode, try setting to program "P" mode instead. Also, turn off the flash, and set to macro if shooting close-in (press downward on the little flower icon on the back disk). If pictures come out blurry, try using a tripod to hold the camera steady, or set the camera down on an object so it doesn't move while taking the shot. Try using the timer to activate the shutter to allow the camera to remain even steadier for the shot.

Blurred pictures

if this is digital camera then the batteries have nothing to do with blurry pictures, however replacing them could cause all of your settings to be changed back to factory default. Make sure you are in the camera's auto mode, this can be a switch of a knob, and enable the flash and you should be taking crisp photos in no time,
