SOURCE: lamp life indicator reset

Here you go:

1) Turn projector on, press MENU button and ON-SCREEN MENU will appear. Press POINT LEFT/RIGHT button(s) to move a red frame point pointer to SETTING Menu icon (refer to page 36, 37).
2) Press POINT DOWN button to move a red frame pointer to "Lamp counter reset" and then press SELECT button. The message "Lamp replace counter reset?" is displayed. Move the pointer to [Yes] and then SELECT button.
3) Another confirmation dialog box appears and select [Yes] to reset Lamp Replace Counter.

Good luck!

SOURCE: Sanyo plc-xt16 Projector

It sounds like the lamp is going.
Do you know how many hours of use are reported on the lamp?

Many times these projectors have circuitry to shutdown when they suspect the lamp is near the end of life. Lamp hours vary and usually will go up to and even beyond expectancy, but there is occasions you can receive a bad lamp and have it blow in a matter of hours...not common but it does occur.

I hope this helps,
Magoo

All filters are clean on unit but while warming up it locks out on warming temp. If all filters are clean what else would cause this fault?

hi,
check , is the fan is working or not. a fan is used for cooling the lamp,( through out till it is on.) if the fan is not working the lamp will get over heated and the worming message will come.check it first.

The lower part of the display is dim.

the fly-eye lens (diffuser) is starting to fry and needs to be replaced. there is one right inside the lamp housing and one on the other side of the first. the second one is the one that usually fries. if that is ok, then check the light filters next to the lcd panels. they fry due to excessive dust and heat. if one of those go, you'll need to replace the entire optical engine.

Hi there

Is there any on screen prompting ?

If not , open up the lamp door at the bottom and take out the lamp. Check on the lamp's shaft for any irregularity ( i.e. vein like looking black marks or bubbles or a white spot , also check that the fillament on the inside is not broken.)

If you spot anything I listed up here , your lamp will need replacement.

If you cannot see any irregularity , check when the unit shuts down which of the LED's on the unit flashes.

It will either be your lamp or the Ballast ( lamp's powersupply ) that is faulty and will need replacement.
