SOURCE: Deep Fryer stopped working.

I had the same problem with the fryer. I figured worst that could happen if I took it apart was it was not fixable. So I took it apart. The reset switch was burned out. Chared. Of course I have no idea where or how to get a replacement. I suppose you can bypass the switch. I have not tried that yet. Still deciding if this would be some kind of fire hazzard.

SOURCE: Ultrex deep fryer

It's probably the 'thermal' protective device installed in the circuit with the heating element. Many appliances are equipped with this kind of protection (i.e., coffee pots, electric skillets, rice cookers, crockpots, etc.). As the appliance ages, this device starts to fail and then finally 'gives up' and an 'open' circuit occurs and the heating elements don't receive power to heat up. If you have appliance repair experience, this component can be purchaced at most appliance repair shops. If you are not so inclined, it's best to have a qualified appliance repair technician diagnose the problem and repair it (if you want to keep the fryer).

Hope this helps you.

SOURCE: oil will not heat up

I believe there is a reset switch within the vat. Make sure there is power to the outlet. Try to turn the T'stat wide open to get it to click. If you don't have one, the connection may not be good.Let me know how you do.

SOURCE: need power cord for Ultrex 6liter double stainless

I would suggest that you go to www.theconsumerlink.com and click on appliance parts. Stroll down to T-Fal and search the detachable cord that is possibly the one you need for your fryer.

SOURCE: Bad safety interlock switch for immersible element

You can check on Amazon.com, or Ebay.com.
The safety switch can be bought online or by contacting the manufacturer for the unit.
You can check this: http://www.suns-usa.com/safety%20switch.htm or http://www.amazon.com/725-3167-Interlock-57211-24273MA-Murray/dp/B001VGDBOO/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1266936054&sr=1-1-fkmr0

Note that not all the safety switch will be compatible, if you want the exact one, you have to contact the manufacturer to request it or to the store where you had purchased it.
