Deep Fryer stopped working.

Bought a ultrex double deep fryer on ebay new a year ago, Model 14248.
The thing stopped working, when you push the power button nothing happens the lights don't come on the fryer stopped heating. There is a
reset button on the back, I read in the manual to push the reset button.
But still nothing. Is there futher troubleshooting for this? Is it worth getting
fixed or buying parts for fixing self? It still looks brand new. Any input
would be appriciated. Gram11 and discouraged.

My pro fry I bought around christmas, from I believe from QVC. It just won't come on. It worked just fine the last time I used it.

I have the exact same problem. I used it a week ago, everything was fine. Used it last night it seemed okay. I turned if off but the kids wanted more fries. I tried to start it up again and - nothing.....I can't locate my manual but I did notice the reset button in the back. I pressed on it with a small screw driver but it didn't seem to give and it definitely didn't do me any good. I've used it about 15 times. But last week was the first time I had used it in months because I put it away. I'm stummped.

I purchased a Ultrx Deep fat fryer, Model#08303 from HSN. It sat unused for 6 months or so. I then opened the carton and followed all instructions, but no heat. I read the troubleshooting guide. Pushed in the reset button, still no current. It has never been used at all. Anyone have any suggestions?

The deep fryer worked fine for about five or six uses. Then, in the middle of deep frying, it just stopped heating. Can't get it to work, and don't see any reset button. I see lots of people have the same problem, but don't see any solutions.

I have a "Masterbuilt" Fish 'n' Chick deep fryer purchased thru Bass Pro. It was working fine and when I put a second basket of fries in it, it just stopped working. Not heating the oil. I doubled check that there was power to the outlet first, but could not get the fryer to turn back on. I trued the reset, but that did not work either. Looking to see if it is the element that went up and if it can be replaced.

I had the same problem, but I fixed mine!!!! Make sure that the part with the control panel is locked in. It you just sit it in, it won't come on. You must lock it in on the side.

I had the same problem with the fryer. I figured worst that could happen if I took it apart was it was not fixable. So I took it apart. The reset switch was burned out. Chared. Of course I have no idea where or how to get a replacement. I suppose you can bypass the switch. I have not tried that yet. Still deciding if this would be some kind of fire hazzard.

Need a detachable cord for fryer

Hello pat..... Ultrex is no longer in business.

find a local appliance parts store to see if they can fit a cord for you. There are many universal designs available that may fit your unit. In order to do this, you will have to bring the deep fryer in to the store. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

Oil will not heat up

I believe there is a reset switch within the vat. Make sure there is power to the outlet. Try to turn the T'stat wide open to get it to click. If you don't have one, the connection may not be good.Let me know how you do.

NOT WORKING

FIRST THING I WOULD DO IS CHECK THE FUSE IN THE PLUG IF THIS WAS OK THEN YOU CAN CHECK THE THERMOSTAT WITH A MULTIMETER TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE AC VOLTAGE IF YOU HAVE CHECK TO SEE IF THERE IS A FUSEABLE FUSE AROUND WERE THE HEATER ELEMENT IS IF THERE IS NOT A FUSE THEN IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE ELEMENT IS GONE OPEN CIRCUIT
