The blue light merely indicates that power is getting to your TV. It has internal power supply problems.

try going into bios blue screen press f2 or f10 or f12 on start up beep . change setting in video settings

  1. Watch for a "entering setup" message in the first few seconds after turning on your computer. This message varies greatly from computer to computer and also includes the key or keys you need to press to enter BIOS.
Here are some common ways you might see this BIOS access message:
    • Press [key] to enter setup
    • Setup: [key]

I have a cybershot DSC W55. When the power button is switched on the lens extends and the "access" message shown on screen. Also amber light is flashing above screen. After a few seconds I get a message to power on and off again. I\'ve tried switching on and off a few times, removing battery pack and memory card, but nothing seems to be solving the problem.

Tv screen shuts off, light blue comes on and horizontal bars cross the screen. the sides have orange and blue vertical lines and middle shinks in. If i turn off the main power, wait a few minutes...

I agree that it is the power supply board. I had a problem with my Phillips 42 in. HDTV. It would not turn on at all.

I opened it up and found several bad capacitors. I removed the bad ones and replaced them with good ones and its up and running.

My suggestion is to inspect the capacitors on the Power Supply Board. Look for bulged leaking or misshaped capacitors. If you find any replace them or have them replaced. They are very inexpensive.
Or just replace the whole board

Hope that helps

I just bought an IBM Thinkpad r31 for my kids, that may have a connection problem, or it may be with the HDD or controller. It comes on intermittently, and when it boots, may only stay on for a few minutes...

It's the HDD, its spin-up time (the time it takes the motor on the platters to reach normal operating rpms)  is too great so the system can't decide if it's a hard or soft problem so it freezes.
Nothing more you can do, replace it.

PC shuts down. When you turn on the pc it shuts

try to change the source, that should solve the problem. But before try reset CMOS. (if you don`t know how to do it by jumper simple remove the battery from the mainboard for 5 minutes and then plug it back on..and after that turn on your computer and press F1 for default settings)

Sounds like a power supply fault due to leaky capacitors(electrolitics).
From cold take the back off and run a hair dryer over the power supply for a few minutes then switch on,if it comes up fully working then you have to isolate the faulty part/parts and replace.

Blue crt assmbly maybe?

its very possible that the blue CRT is horting the set out. Heres how you can test it. Remove the speaker grille and access panel behind the grille and you will see the crts. remove the blue crt circuit board from the end of the blue crt and make sure it isnt touching anything then try powering up the set if it doesnt shut down then you have found the problem and you will need a new crt. or you can switch the blue circuit with the green and try it iwth the blue on green and the green on the blue then if the screen turns green before shutting down you will know that its a problem in the blue drive circuit and not the crt. lety me know if you need further assistance.

Sony KP-51HW40 51 in. Rear Projection turns blue

Hello......
First reduse the G2 voltage for the blue c.r.t,and watch if the unit works for longer period (offcource blue colour will be not present). After reducing G2 voltage to blue c.r.t still behaves the same than c.r.t is faulty and you have to replace.
Pls count the red led blinking when it goes off, incase it goes to std by mode.
